The written language is pretty easy to comprehend I think, so is Danish. Though spoken Danish is a fucking mystery.

I understand fairly much of spoken Norwegian, but it's hard to follow and/or take seriously due to the melody and perkiness of it. I don't know if you pick up on that or not, being from there... But to me it sounds like some kind of dementedly happy singing or rhyming.

Anyway... I'm going to bed to watch Cannibal Holocaust, and get some sleep. Have a nice day.

I like swedish, chill language and chill people, I hate danish though (but they are nice people), thats the weirdest language ever, they talk like they have potatoes stuck in their throats.  I always thought Norwegian must be the easiest to understand with the scandinavian languages because its such a clean language with the straightest sound/dialect... I see what you mean by the perkiness though, lol.  God bedring :wink:

No way, I can't understand a shit of spoken Norwegian... the way that you guys intonate up and down and up and down (heJ Jeg heiTEr krishNA,  if you see what I mean) confuses me too much. Swedish is much easier, but I actually find Danish to be the easiest, once you get used to it. But to go from spoken Danish to written Danish, that's a mystery! All I can do is take something written in Bokmaal and mumble a lot :grin:

Funny jokes by the way, I'll have to tell them to my swedish friends.

he he... you're pointing out things that I never though of before, but yeah I guess we intonate tones up and down, lol.
Written danish is easy, spoken danish is hard as fuck and such a stressfull language to listen too. Its a very funny language though, what the FUCK do they have down their throats, sounds like somone from the netherlands.

Swedish, like i said is cool though. Not the written stuff I love they're "shhoooon" sounds like in "instutisjhoooon".

Is it really that hard to understand norwegian?, I always thought norwegian must be the easiest... its the most neutural langiage of the three, clean and easy to understand.

But Finnish is actually quite similar to Estonian. Not as similar as say written Norwegian and written Danish, but still quite close...

just say "Coca Cola Pepsi Cola" really fast and you sound finnish :grin:

Don't you think that Sk?nsk sounds a bit like Danish as well, Run? I have a friend from Malm? and she refuses to accept herself as swedish - she wants to start a Sk?na seperatist group.

BTW - is that how you spell Sk?na? I've never really figured that out... :grin:

Yes it is. I used to live down there, in Sk?ne. It used to belong to Denmark, that's why.

There's actually already a Seperate Sk?ne movement, but they're from up north. They want to dig a big ditch straight across Sweden to seperate Sk?ne from the rest. :lol:

Yeah, I've noticed that to, lol, its hillerious, we're talking about scandinavia and they're all like, wtf?

Its funny initself that we have som many scandinavians here on a message board that consists mostly of canadians, americans.... and we got a bunch of scandinavians out of nowhere here. Most americans I've known dont even seem to know scandinavia exist, its a a place so far away and so little heard about that scandinavia might aswell not exist.

Whats even funnyer is that scandinavians think so highly of themselves, especially people from bergen, think so highly of themselves like they're opinions will matter so much to the rest of the world. We got a lot of bigmouthed politically rascists here who think their minoric ideas are so important to the rest of the world... but around the globe people are like, "Norway? Huh? Isnt that a city in Germany?", lol
