Absinthe 1/2 with water? Or do you use it as one of several additives in your booze concoctions? I can't remember the last time I heard somebody doing the 'green fairy' technique with water, absinthe and a sugar cube.

personal favorites involve wine, champagne or a sparkling red, ala death in the afternoon.
although my pearwood and sassafrass aged absinthe is best consumed simply diluted with ice water, sugar optional.

A few years ago I went through an Absinthe phase but always just 1/2 and 1/2ed it with water. You got me thinkin', and if I wasn't too lazy to drive to the liquor store I'd soon be drinkin'. A sparkling wine mixer has me intrigued. Hmmm...

It's a classic cocktail invented by Hemingway for one of his books, the death in the afternoon, and so named is the cocktail.

Virgin absinthe (fresh off the still and uncolored) here
tried a new method with a Huge botanical basket instead of maceration, the subtle notes are entirely different but the large notes are the same. Moving forward I believe that i'm going to use a combination of the botanical basket and maceration.
