Exact same dose but much weaker trip

7 days ago, I ate an 8th of good mushrooms. I've eaten around an ounce of this same batch in the last 2 months with dosage ranging from 1 to 2 grams. When I ate the 8th last week, I tripped absolute sack and had a very deep experience. Last night, I ate 4 grams of the same exact batch of shrooms and the trip felt closer to taking 1.5 grams or so. What the hell happened? I'm not on medication, chewed them super well and both trips I ate them on an empty stomach. Do I still have a tolerance after a week?

Do not try to fix the tolerance by increasing the dose eigher..it will just add more bodyload to the experience and making relaxation harder.

Also, the dose last week was caps and stems, last night was just stems. In theory, is an 8th of caps more potent than an 8th of stems?

it is not. they're all the same. and if you were taking anything but powdered shrooms that have been mixed up, you can get wildly varying results, even from the same batch of shrooms. especially if its multispore. if you want reliable results you need to get a whole bunch of your dried shrooms and powder them, then throughly mix it. that way the average potency is standardized. (for that batch)

ive not noticed tolerance after a couple days myself, but it also varies by person. some people say they need a month, other people like me a few days is fine. i suspect part of tolerance is mental, at least after the first few days - part of the magic is in the uniqueness, so it's like going to disneyworld every few days. first time is incredible, second time is great, then it slowly gets more and more ordinary, until the magic of forgetfulness kicks in. the most magical place on earth didn't change, just your familiarity with it.

then again, im a person who isn't easily bored at all - if i get bored doing something i just think of a new way to do it, or come up with new challenges to try while doing it.

Sounds like tolerance. but like psion said everyone is different. Take at least at week if not two if you've been tripping a lot recently.

I keep a trip log trying  to find a repeatable does=experience. I have had no luck. Waiting  2 weeks and taking 5g then 2 weeks later, 5g from the same batch and the experience is not the same.

Finally decided, wait at least 2 weeks and take at least 7g is my dose and just accept what ever experience I get. No expectations to go deeper or get more from it than last time.

Yeah, I'm still trying to figure out how mushroom tolerance operates. It's pretty annoying how quickly it builds for me. I think I'm going to give powdering a try.

Powdering is great, stores well in an airtight glass container and saves space too!

I've got a little to say on tolerance, but I've got to head to qork.

Work on the knowledge you have gained and wait a few weeks.  I was so happy with my progress that I decided to keep dosing. I did 3.5 grams dried of Golden Teacher and it was a high level 1 trip because I had 3 trips in the last 2 weeks.  Such a waste.
