New to this, need help identifying possibly Cyans? (NW WA)

Habitat:
I found this growing near a garden bed full of mulch and close to the base of an oak tree. Quite a few around the same

Gills: to me it looks like the gills are not attached to the stem, but I'm not sure

Cap: the cap is a darker brown color, and I collected samples with both concave and more convex caps

Spore print color:
Still working on this! Will update the
post once I figure it out

Nope - looks like Tubaria sp. to me.

Sounds like you are looking in the right sort of place and Tubaria are superficially similar, also way more common. Psilocybe would have a whitish stem rather than a stem the color of the cap and usually shows some pretty clear blue (ballpoint pen ink colored too- not green or teal/aqua) staining on the cap and/or stem unless it's really pristine.

I'd bet your spore prints are orange-brown though. Psilocybe would be purplish black.

They really do look quite similar - here's a photo someone posted earlier with a side by side comparison
