30% in the f--g field they went to college for! Not 30% only have jobs. You're twisting my words and you know you are.. Real men dont vote for Bernie Sanders. Real men can take care of themselves and their family. They dont need a politician to demand them to give their tax money to other men that don't work for them! They dont need other people to pay for their education or anything else. Real men dont whine and say it's not fair. Real men want the ability to protect themselves and their family. Real men see everything as a challenge and overcome it. I honestly see a bunch of weak people that want a bunch of handouts. We're getting so fu--ing soft and sensitive it's seriously ridiculous. You guys need to man up and fix your own lives.

I guess I was wrong it might be 27%!

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2013/05/20/only-27-percent-of-college-grads-have-a-job-related-to-their-major/?utm_term=.70d79977b918

Go to Google and look up how many college graduates get a job in their field. A million things will show up.

Who gives a shit if 27% of people work in a field pertaining to their major? What does it matter? I have two degrees and use both at my day job, but nobody is making a big fucking deal out of it. I also own a business, one which I have no formal training in. Nobody gives a shit about that either.

And nobody cares about how you feel. Get over it. Bring some information to the table that isn't "my mom likes strong men." That bullshit is of zero value.

I support heavily subsidized public education but not free. It should be affordable enough to work your way through school, without much borrowing. I think free college would create malingering. When my brother got back from Viet Nam he went to a local community college and in his words, played cards there until the GI bill ran out. As an involuntary war veteran he deserved this chance to fuck around for awhile, but I think free education would create a lot of fucking around. Paying for part of it would definitely reduce the number of nonmotivated students IMO.

I disagree, and here's why.  No one is proposing we increase the number of public colleges.  If existing public colleges were free, more people would apply and they would become FAR more competitive.  People who care less could never accepted into public colleges.

I agree about the increasing competitiveness part. I disagree with your last sentence. My first answer to that was think about Frat Boys. My second response would be acceptance is primarily based on test scores (which I agree with) but that does not equate with motivation. The other primary selection criteria, high school grades does a better job with motivation but their  unstandardized nature has always lead me believe that is an inferior criteria.

I have another concern as someone who spent way too much time in public universities (because I test well, and they didn't want to stop paying me, so I didn't want to quit going). I think free public college would increase the inequality between the compensation of public vs private professors, and eventually lead to an unacceptable quality difference between them. There's no way to objectively make projections on this but it definitely is a hunch I have.

One other observation. Whether we increased the number of public institutions or not, I don't see this happening without increasing enrollment. There has been a huge expansion in college education since the 60's. If we kick someone out of the system for each new entrant (even if this was deserved)  I'm seeing a lot of negative fallout. So if it doesn't become less competitive I see worse problems.

My understanding was that the free tuition would be at the community college level, maybe the state level. I don't believe there was a plan for private school tuition?

That said, this would be a boon for my local community college. It's fairly well attended, but more attendance means more state and local funding as well.

You’re right, there’s no debate. A well/better educated populous better stands to improve those very things. Not improving education only benefits the elite.

Education can't fix the structural destruction of high paying jobs.

Please explain how more education fixes this issue?  It doesn't.

Define fix? If it's replacement of those wages/rates then we need a serious change of political will power. As we can see, the retards voted in fellow retard Donald Trump, perhaps we should educate our populous? If we did (Republicans, conservatives such as your self, and the elites discourage increasing education because dumb voters vote for these parties) we might see more voters going out for people like Bernie. As is, we continue to gut unions, we continue to decrease workers rights, and we continue to whore our political will power to low skill jobs that are more easily filled by low education low wage workers over seas. These are all things you agree on but are willing to be a hypocrite about, as I've pointed out about 30 times now.

BOTH Trump and Bernie are the only politicians that have pointed out the destructive trade agreements, but Trump voters are uneducated?  Come on mate, that doesn't make any sense.  BTW, the most highly educated towns in my state (CT) had more Trump votes than Hillary.

My point still stands, education can NOT fix Nike, Apple, GE, GM, Ford and others from moving decent paying jobs out of the US. The Elite will continue to suggest education is the only solution while they continue to destroy the bottom 80%. They blame labor for the problem they created in the first place.

The blame belongs mostly to regulations and labor rules, which in America are far more strict than the countries wherein manufacturing takes place.

What do we want?

To dump our factories in another country where we can pollute and pay people slave wages?

Or to take responsibility for our own production by polluting and enslaving our own people?

I'd rather take responsibility than dump our shit into another country.

"The blame belongs mostly to regulations and labor rules"

Well, the opportunity to use slave labor is irresistible for corporations.  The only way to combat companies from engaging in that practice is to counter it with economic tariffs. Trump talked a great game, but obviously has failed on this key issue.
