Some gilled and polypore mushroom id
    #25707217 -

Hey,
these specimen were found in a forest in Germany in late December,
mixed Birch and Beech forest with a few Oaks in between.
I'd like to get some confirmation or id of my finds:

1) 95% sure that these are false chanterelle

2) All guides I used pointed me towards either Russola or Hygrocybe, but none of them looked like these guys

3) This seemed to be a very colorful polypore. I took a small sample and the smell was super intense of mushrooms. Very similar to Psylocybe, intense, mushroomy, earthy smell. As you can see it's growing on a fallen birch tree. Could this be a Fomitopsis pinicola?

4) Is this a Fomes fomentarius? There was no distinct smell of the sample I took.

5) It looks really different, but the closest I could find was still Fomes fomentarius

6) Fomes fomentarius as well?

7) Auricularia polytricha (Cloud ear fungus)?

8) This could be some type of Trametes, but I don't think it's Trametes versicolor (Turkey tail)?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Nice finds!

Im no expert but the first pics might be true chanterelles, its hard to tell because of the photo. were there true gills or were there just folds instead of gills?

Im not sure about the Russola.

Those are some mice hoof fungus whatever species they are.

7 - I would say looks more like your standard jelly ear, it looks purple and has no hairiness to it.

8 - they look like some old turkey tail specimens to me

They are false chanterelles.

#2 is a Hypholoma species, maybe H. capnoides.

Russula has white gills that will crumble when you rub your finger across them, most will have a short stocky white stipe.
