Feeling Demotivated with these Cakes

Hey guys, I've made a couple of posts already for my first grow. Got these cakes from a vendor the ones with the bag tek. I had them in the bags for the first 5 days, everything was drying. Dunked them 12 hours, rolled in verm and built a sgfc to spec. 2 days in there, drying super fast again. Taped up most of the holes and misted/fanned 4-5 a day. Had high hopes.

On day 4, I noticed some pins on one of the cakes and thought if I keep up what I was doing, I was in the clear for a harvest. Seems things have slowed right down again, its currently end of day 7. I feel like the mycelium is getting a bit grey and the pins on the one cake haven't grown at all since day 4 with no new pins forming.

The other cake (with no noticeable pinning) I believe started colonizing the verm and has some overgrowth? It looks like shiny white snow tbh, its been there for 3 days. I was thinking contaminate at the start but it hasn't changed colour in the slightest, just the cake itself looks abit greyed out.

I don't know where to go from here. Shall I keep this going for another week? I really feel like IF I get a harvest, I should shred these cakes up and transfer to a bulk monotub tek. Any info would be really helpful! Thanks!

Are you getting a good FAE. I’d check that first. If it is are you sure you’re meeting pinning conditions?

Well I'm not 100% but I fan regularly and there are about 20 open holes in total. The evaporation of the surface seems pretty good. Cake surface is pretty dry if I don't mist for approx 8 hours.

Fanning doesn't do anything.

And you wont see pins for at least 12 days.
