Well I’ve had it shrink wrapped until just now when I opened to mist and take a pic.

Ok... whatever works I suppose... I'd give the tek as a whole a shot, or do a side by side: I bet it colonizes faster unwrapped... I'm no one to be shaking my head, but I do scratch it a lot lol

Well I spawned the tub and then read all 498 pages of this thread Hahaha.  Sometimes it goes that way, but hey if you say it’s a waste of time, I’d rather not do it!  Cling wrap off.

It's not necessary for a canopy of fruit, but if it makes you feel better and still gets results, I wouldn't call it a waste I don't suppose

Any luck with a humidifier?  They were invariably problematic when I was messing with them.  I remember the Vicks tub.

At what stage of colonisation should I start monitoring surface conditions, that is beading of water on the mycelium?

Is it once I see mycelium breaking through the surface?

Quick question about leveling out and packing the corners and substrate/span should I lightly pack pat it down to make it level and the edges to stop side pinning?

I like to do just that.
Lightly pat it level, and I like to tamp the sides down with just a little bit more force.

I always heard you never want compaction.  I usually lightly shake to get it mostly level and then use a cd case to grade it carefully.

Does anyone think 78.3 is too hot to fruit?  I could cool my chamber with a computer fan but I’d really rather not.

Summer time my house is usually holding at high 70's, never seemed to be an issue. I've fruited cubes at low 80's many times.

Dunno if I am ever gonna get tired of Shoeboxes....

Doubled down on this one to what I usually put in due to running out of tubs..

Gotta work on getting them flatter... Maybe I am cockeyed...

What was your spawn ratio?

Yea dude this past summer all my grows were subjected to 90F heat. Everything survived and thrived somehow.

I even left some colonized agar plates in the attic all summer. Way over 100f up there during the day, some how I still spawned them after sitting in that for 3 months and they grew

That's actually a great idea...you could be inadvertently selecting heat resistant genetics by doing this. Would be great for southern/tropical growers.
