Thank you I tried to make it as simple as possible. I am going to revise this and make it easier by allowing people to buy what they need from kit.com that way you decide what you want to build and just click on it to buy everything needed. If I ever get the time to do it.

Sorry to revive an old thread but I'm in the middle or collecting parts to build a barrel. The only barrels I can find locally have a "poly ceramic direct food contact inner lining". Do you think they will work? Not sure if that would be safe for my application, would hate for that lining to leech stuff into my bags.

A little tip here put a location under your name it will help us help you.
I would be a little afraid of those drums (drums are metal barrels are wood although a lot of people use the terms interchangeably) Search for Drum you may have better luck. From what I have read you may have a problem with the ceramic chipping when you drill it. Then cracking when you heat it. If it chips when you drill it for your element it will leak on your wiring. I personally would be afraid to use that drum.

I would contact the person that has the metal drums and ask them if they can find a drum without the ceramic coating.

Last case scenario I might try something like this...
If you end up trying something like this and it works make a post to help people in the future.
If you can't find another drum without the ceramic coating. I would just drill the drum [larger] FROM THE INSIDE and try using the drum first and see if you have a problem. If you do have a problem then I would try the video.

Looked around a bit today but didn't come across much. Found some stainless steel ones a few hours away for around $400. I'm located in CT.
I definitely don't want to take the chances of something leeching into my bags or compromising the heating element.

One queation about PID and drum steriliser please... My electrician said that this PID only works as on/off switch and not like I've read - that it also controls watts trough heating element (I read that it runs at 10% let's say for example).
Another question: 96°C core temp on top bag is okay for 8 hours? Or need to be 98°C? What cycle do you use guys? I have HWFP and bran.

Your electrician is correct sort of. What a PID does is it will pulse and give a little electricity in increments to keep it at the set temp. He is wrong in the sense that it is not on or off for long periods of time. So the PID will get 100% power until it gets close to your set temp then it will start pulsing to keep it at the set temp.
Only you can decide if 8 hours is enough time. If you don't get contamination then 8 hours is enough. I run mine for at least 10 hours the few extra pennies it costs to run those 2 hours is not worth having to throw out your sub. The 1st time you run it put the probe in the top bag when the top bag reaches 205F start your timer and write down how long it took to reach that temp then add that time to how long you want to run. Now you know how long to run your next batch. I want to run my sub for 10 hours and it takes 45 mins to get to temp so I run my steamer for 11 hours. I don't worry about the 15 mins. It costs me about $1.80 to run for 11 hours.

Yea, I was read somewhere that PID only give then 10-20% of power just to keep temperature on point. And he said "yes, but that PID is not 40€ but 200€ and above".
However, I forgot something to disconnect heating element from drum, so I can take drum on wheels and place it from garage to lab/flowhood. Is any trick/tip to do that? Or can I transfer cooling bags in open air to transport wheel/table and drive it in open air to other building?

I would be careful who you are calling an electrition I bet he can't even tell you what PID stands for. A $200 PID does the same thing as the $40 PID and you are mainly paying for a name. Here is a video on the Inkbird or the Mypin PID and yes it is about $40...

You won't have a problem transferring your bags in open air. Just do a quick spray down of the lab with 10% bleach before doing spawn and let the flow hood run for a couple of hours.

He has 4 mega watts solar in the field in front of the house and he's wiring and repairing industrial motors for big companies. He said those PID's are running at 100% and they not runnning at 10-20% when they need to. So if I have 3000 W heater, PID will only turn on and off all 3000 watts when needed, and not 400 watts.
Anyhow... how do I set up PID? I've got the same Inkbird. Just click "set button" and go to 98°C? And that's it? Or need to set lowest temp too? I don't have papers anymore.

There's no PIDs that can throttle their output. They're on off switches attached to a logic controller. The logic is looking for a way to get to the setpoint without overshooting it by turning the heat on and off. When its on it's on 100%. It gets close to the setpoint you'll hear the contactor or relay clicking on and off repeatedly

Yea, that's we are saying. I guess shroomsisay01 has different PID or what. I don't know.
Emmm... can anyone help me with PID programing? I just set "set point" and that's it? Or what? Can I set auto off without mechanical timer?

I said that almost 3 days ago. It is the same thing bodhisatta said just in different words so I don't know I guess you just hear what you want to hear. It does not matter to me either way. But seeing how you miss important parts of what someone writes make sure you get a video to build your steamer from I don't want to see you burn down your house or kill someone!!

No, you don't have to babysit it. If it is set up right and on a timer you will be fine. I have a steamer set up on a PID and I have my PC set up on a PID and I don't babysit either one. My PC I just press a button and walk away and If I am doing agar it sounds an alarm when the agar is ready to pour at 140F.
