 What really happened to Otto Warmbier

What happened to this kid is/ was pretty fucked off, but there seems to be 2 sides of the story.
One side says he was brutally tortured and was returned blind, deaf, and brain dead.
The other side says thats false and his returning symptoms are from attempted suicide.

For me, its really hard to say. Part of me says north korea is completely capable and willing and another part says its all propaganda bullshit caused and created by the US government.

My guess is that it was an accident that occurred while torturing him in some way that involved oxygen deprivation. A suicide attempt might do the same thing, but what was the method used? And why give the botulism excuse first?

Definately not one of his better decisions. You would have thought there would be a sit down for clarification like, “this is where we are going, this is actually how they do things, reel in your behavior ‘this’ much etc”..
You would have thought he was stealing a mickey flag from disney land..

I can believe that their nuclear program was motivated mostly by self defense and not trigger happy insanity. But it probably is also true that they do horrible things to their own people. You can see the fear in the eyes of ordinary people who pose for pictures with their dear leader.

Well the "evidence" the North Koreans used to say he tried to steal the poster is complete bullshit. It's like a 240p video of a shape of a person.....it could be anybody. So I think that was staged and they wanted to use Otto Warmbier as propaganda. Did you watch the "confession" video? It was so phony and it was so obvious that they wrote what he was supposed to say and do. So it was either torture or an attempted suicide imo. It's hard to say for sure which one it was.

I guess it really doesn't matter if he did or didn't steal it. He visited a regimen that is pretty ruthless, and (allegedly) got tortured as a result. Really should of thought twice about going to N korea i guess.
I mean jesus, its pretty common knowledge that they torture imprisoned citizens, much less an american prisoner, and will throw you away for pretty much no reason, why in the FUCK would someone visit a place like that?
