I'm not the one trying to fit a story to my 'narrative', you're the one doing that.  I'm stating the obvious fact that we don't know the truth because of insufficient evidence.

This is the thing though koods I know that footage exists, and yes it clearly shows the barrels coming from Syrian helicoptors but there were other accounts where I don't know who to believe, that's what I am trying to say.
I believe Bashas al-Assad is not the person who should be running Syria yet at the same time I am reminded of what happened in Iraq with Saddam.
I'll return to my previous statement to say it is a confusing mess and will add I have no answers... other than adding LSD to the water supply :sun: hey it makes as much sense as any other option!

You didn't say that, I mentioned it to illustrate the difficulty in knowing exactly what's happening, how hard it is to know the truth and the complexity of the problem.

No, business with Crimea is forbidden by all Western countries.  I was there for personal educational purposes, and it turned out to be a really fun trip.

Crimea is a really nice place.  Hopefully one day the US will get over the fact that our plan to steal Russia's only warm water port in Sevastopol failed.

Fair enough, you sound very rational.  My comment was more directed at koods, who is our reigning king of make believe.

Wow, I'm super jealous. My mom went to Russia in the late 90's. I think she visited Ukraine also. She actually married a Russian man, and brought him home with her (Much to our surprise). She speaks fluent Russian, German and Kurdish. I think she speaks Ukrainian also, but it's very similar to Russian. Russia was very different back then.

Do you speak Russian/Ukrainian?

No, I don't speak Ukrainian, but it is pretty similar to Russian, which I get by with pretty well.

I'm planning to go back to Russia again this spring, and might take another flight out to Crimea, as that was a really fun place to visit as well.

Koods can be smart with most issues, but when it comes to Russia, he believes whatever the establishment media tells him, and when pushed for evidence, his response is always along the lines of "I don't have to prove myself right about Russia, you have to prove me wrong", which violates the 'burden of proof' obligation.
