Spot on. I've learned more about men here than I ever learned in six decades of life....with every chair splintered to toothpicks and every glass smashed to tiny shards...

.....Indeed the level of childishness on this board seems to grow logarithmically. Of course fighting is stupid, but that has never stopped it. Boxing is a fine example.

....What is interesting about the verbal fighting here is that unlike the armies of the world, the participants draft themselves. Unlike male animals that are 'drafted' or compelled by hormones to fight for mating 'rights', unlike boxers that are often partially 'drafted' by poverty, and having some 'talent'; here it would seem the participants engage in virtual ( because both the 'opponents' & presumed 'audience' are anonymous and there are no real world consequences) conflict to prove something to themselves or to imagine that some kind of virtual 'liking' is meaningful.

....One supposes some kind of compulsion to be seen as "right", (for whatever reason), by oneself or others must be in operation, as the feminine approach to communication certainly feels better, to anyone who pays attention to bodily sensation.
....Of course this culture tends to pressure males into being 'head trippers'. And technology has furthered the trend, with for example, computer programers stereotypically addicted to caffeine, and sitting still for hours, rather unaware of their bodies, focused on screens. Who later often have trouble relating to people in a satisfying way.
