Photographic memory
    #25688492 -

I just read on Wikipedia that photographic memory is virtually nonexistent in adults.:wtfsonic:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eidetic_memory

my boss once said to me "I know you don't have a photographic memory" about something and I thought to myself "wtf is he saying?  Of course I do, we all do.." My memories are only recalled to me as pictures in color that I see in my brain.

This is fucked because if I try to explain how brain pictures work to people they'd think I am stupid and a liar.
Do you remember in photo like pictures?
You may choose only one

Before the rapid increase in mandela effects lots ov people had photographic memory.  In the appropriated reality very few now have it and those who say they do are thought to be wrong.  Re-member that!

Thanks sir. I asked around work today and one guy totally explained brain memory photographic visuals just as I understand and experience it myself. Others did not.

That's so messed up that how many people lack a significant brain ability. How else could memories be recalled without interbrainal images?

I think I do? For example: if I smell somethong nostalgic from my childhood its like pulling a loose thread, I can retrace my memories Then live them fully, as in i can remember all experiences not just sight. I can remember touch and taste as well.

When people say "i have photographic memory" its typically a reference to having very-detailed visual memory.

Everybody has some level of photographic memory. However, some people have the skill/ability to remember fine details like looking at a photograph in their mind.

I would guess its a spectrum of functional ability, like all human traits.

photographic memory is like I showed you a photo for 5 seconds of a group of people and you could tell me what colour socks everyone was wearing

And I don't know what the mantis is praying for
But he's probably just thanking the Lord
That he don't live in a home
And he don't got a phone
And he don't sit around all angry and bored

Only just really thought about this, when I recall a memory I don't see it like a picture. I know I have the memory and i can remember certain details but i don't really "see" anything, not like i do in a dream and when I trip I vividly "see" things. Weather it be fractals, colours or watching things happen as if I was watching TV. So I wonder why I don't see my memories in the same way.

It’s sad because blind people can’t remember anything.

Do you see it vividly, like.. fuck I cant explain it. Right my dad and his wife came to visit tonight. I opened the door to them they come in and I gave them both a hug. So a fresh memory. I can kind of just about see that in fpv but so faint that its barely anything, but I know it happened.

I have a friend who said she cannot visualize things in her head. Like she said "I cannot just visualize a beach at once..". And I thought holy fuck though, cause right now Im seeING and making in my head a 95% as clear as woken reality; a fully colored and immersive beach scene with crystal clear rippling water and white sand and jungely trees and caves and shit, like what ever I want I can make it a space in my head.

I also can visualize and invent any sex scene in full detail, incase anyone who doesn't think visually wonders

Photographic memory as I understand it refers to the ability to visually reproduce a scene from memory and retrieve specific details from it by simply looking at the mental image. That would be really impressive and probably very rare.

I would bet there is a link between people with visualization/photographic memory and love for psychedelics :mushroom2:
