I’m sorry if I come off as a snob. However it looks like it’s unhappy. If it looked good I would tell you it looked good. What do you want me to do... flat out lie to you? Are you that sensitive that you cannot take an honest evaluation of what you have done?

Those are some tall ass shrooms.
And you can still get fruits from contaminated bacterial cakes.
I bullshitted around and fruited a bacterial 4lb substrate and got almost 3oz dried from it.
Never doing it again however. Regardless of the fruits it’s still a failed grow.
Dirty spawn because I used a damn syringe. I’m only using agar from now on.
However my monotubs are healthy with no contams and the pinset is amazing.
I use Unmodified tub tek that bodhisatta made.
Even if pasty comes off as a dick, he just gives his honest opinion.
He’s not bashing you or insulting you. So don’t be sensitive to his statements.
He’s actually really proficient in mycology.

Used a syringe on wheat grain and waited about 4 weeks for the
entire jar to turn white and the only thing I used is coffee grounds
for the substrate cause it was the only thing I had at the time. I figured
I clean my coffee maker more than anything in my house so it had
to be the most sterile thing. boiling water goes through the grounds
basically pasteurizes it, so I waited to for it to cool off and mixed the
spawn I made with the wheat grain and waited for it completely turn white
the only thing on the cake was very white cottony strands of mycelium,
I know my camera didn't do justice but I've looked up lots of threads on
here about contamination and I do not believe there was any.

Although now that I know I'm probably extremely lucky it never contamed
I will never do that mistake of using coffee again thanks for the info.

You said the coffee is wet? I think moisture is bad during colonization? But I do recall my brf cakes having some condensing happening during colonization, and they didn't get contaminated. Coffee grounds seem to be difficult to dry completely. But I am far from being an experienced grower.

Many of us fruit from spawn with coir only... coffee is asking for issues IME ... I've tried several mixes, and coir only performs just as well with less vectors for contamination, less materials to buy, and less prep work

There are many things wrong with this. Just because you don't see contamination does not mean there is not any. Bacteria can hide from even experienced growers.

The community here is not being snobish, elitist or anything like that. They would like to help. However, when people deviate so far from what is proven to be reliable (in the community's collective experience), and then ask for advice, it is hard to give. Then, for some reason when they do offer advice or critiques, some people just ignore it.

It's like me trying to do medicine with a book from the early 20th century, then going to a doctor for advice about my patients. What can they say? How can they help if I am undergoing practices which they know lack efficacy, and yet refuse to go another route?

Bacterial fruit will often go unnoticed... no one is trying to be a dick, just want you to grow the best you can: this entails knowing contamination when you see it... you got fruit this time,  but may lose future projects and not know why bc you didn't identify bacterial infection... knowing what you're looking at can better prepare you for potential loss... everyone just wants you to have happy healthy mush bruh

Ha! I literally have had better looking fruits pop up in my trash can after I empty the butt buckets. Cubes are weeds, you basically grew some weeds and still managed to choke them enough so they couldn’t actually flourish. Want to see what a good grow looks like? No you probably do not. Cubes are easy. The bar of what’s good practice and what’s a good grow needs to be higher than merely pushing out a fruit or two.

Look man don’t be butt hurt. That’s all. Right now you seem more concerned with throwing your results in our face when nothing you have constituents anything we didn’t all think was going to happen. That’s it. We might have poked some fun but stuff like this is funny. You will understand in a few years.

For the record I never said for you to toss anything, just that you shouldn’t hope for much. I stand by that statement.
