Kratom withdrawal's no joke...
    #25681730 -

Yes, first of all I acknowledge that it's idiots like me that are giving this plant a bad name.

But damn, this is way worse than I expected. I was taking a of about eight grams white maeng da two to three times a day at my peak usage. Of course, that was after a few months of gradually increasing dosage.

Last couple weeks I've been consciously decreasing my dosage and do I feel terrible.
I'm now down to about four grams a day, and I can't ride in a car, walk, or do much of anything without vomiting. I feel like a pregnant woman. I went from shitting once a week max with tremendous difficulty to not being able to stop shitting.

I find the mental symptoms to go away pretty quickly, it's nothing compared to the physical icky feeling. My nerves are constantly overstimulated, my arms and legs feel like they're made of lead, I'm getting brain zaps, and I'm constantly anxious (guess that's a mental effect).

Moral of the story, don't take kratom daily at any dose.

On the bright side, Burroughs makes a lot more sense to me now.

Any tips to get through this? Non-kratom ways to reduce the symptoms?

IME kratom withdrawal is very short lived. I was taking like 40g a day 5x a week a couple of years back and when I stopped I felt like shit for about 60 hours then I was fine. Could be different for others but I would suggest you just take some antihistamines and try to sleep it off

I had no psychological issues past about 48 hours. The physical stuff lasted around a week.
It sucks. Quit, suck it up, and do the time.
It's worth it. No doubt, it sucks.
But for me it beats waking up at 4am to put my restless legs to sleep.

I only try on Kratom maybe 8 months. I must consume at least 7 grams three times daily. If not the horrible begin taking it’s effect.

I would more than heart to quitting stopping the Kratom but I feel like I’m past that. I have read about tapering. Has any of you any luck? I do not wish to quit 100 percent because of back pain and I prefer Kratom over pills.

Everyone’s chemistry is different. My girlfriend can eat and eat and eat on the cocaine, but pretty much everyone else will not even have the idea of food.

Any suggestions on tapering down? I would like to get down to 3 - 4 grams 3 times a day. I’m already consuming magnesium every night before bed. Anything else that might help?

That's the right approach. People have incredibly different responses to kratom withdrawal-- ranging from nothing to reasonably horrible.

Tapering certainly helps with the severity, although I did not notice that it shortens the duration of WD.

Magnesium is good, gabapentin, if you can get some is even better for the restless legs.

Best thing I have found is exercise-- to the point of exhaustion. I suspecct it is because your body releases endorphins which help stave of symptoms.

Good luck!

Yeah make capsules.  It’s more work but easier to keep track of dosage and the extra work prevent me from taking it sometimes.  Other than that it’s just willlower you have to want and believe things will get better and actively remind yourself or your suffering will be in vain

2 grams is the sweet spot.  It's the best medicinal dosage.  8 grams is a waste.  40 grams is a huge dissapointment.  Kratom is only so intoxicating.  Dosing more gives more day dreams than buzz load.  Honestly it makes more sense to use opium than over load with kratom.

Everyone is different but that does sound a bit weird, are you sure it's not at least partially unrelated? What were you using the kratom for?

I don't think I've ever heard of kratom withdrawal causing people to vomit or shit like that.

Next time try a more steady taper, unless you run out there's not really any reason to just suddenly stop or take way lower doses. I've heard of people cutting their doses in half and getting better effects though, less is more can be true for many people. But it helps to taper down and take a tolerance break.

Starting tomorrow I will lower my dose by 1 gram... the idea is to lower dose one gram at time every 2 to 3 weeks. I have about 1.5 kilos so there is definitely wiggle room.

I am currently 7gs 3 to 4 times a day.

Or even try .5g less per dose every couple days. You may end up realizing 3-4g or less does the trick.

At the peak of my ussage I was using 4-8 grams a day.

But only for a few days. Quitting was rough. I felt like I wanted to die. It hurt so bad.

Now a days I use Kratom, but more wise .

I saw no benefit of taking more than two grams.  Perhaps dosed every 3 to 4 hours.

Kratom is mostly good for coming off of opiates.  That's they only way I see using more than 2 grams at a time.  Taking more than two grams increases side effects and withdrawals.  2 grams isn't all that hard to stop using.

Have you tried mixing lower doses with things that can potentiate kratom? There are a few things people swear by as making kratom stronger, haven't tried many myself but grapefruit is a good one.

Also heard freezing your dose with lemon juice + water can make it stronger, something about converting alkaloids I think.

Semantics. Potency is relative, if it becomes more bioavailable and gives stronger effects it will seem like an increase in potency.

Also with stuff like Bentuangie or freezing kratom it supposedly causes conversion in the alkaloids, which in theory could actually lead to a more potent alkaloid profile.

Bentuangie is supposedly fermented kratom, they sun cure it or something weird which causes alkaloids to convert to 7-hydroxymytragynine or whatever. Which supposedly gives more sedating effects.

There's pretty much just anecdotal evidence but I've heard good things about some like the freezing method.

Also there's a lot of tips out there for things that help with specific side effects, like constipation. Or ways to help reduce parts of the withdrawals such as restless legs, I think magnesium helps with both apparently.

Well I'm not sure about kratom specifically, but I've been through withdrawals from oxycodone and dilaudid.  Things that helped me were weed, gabapentin, xanax, immodium for the diarrhea (which is a legal OTC drug), and adderall.  Luckily I don't get nausea or vomiting, but I do get the chills, hot/cold sweats, dysphoria, constant yawning, and insomnia.  The weird thing is adderall seemed to help the most and make me feel almost normal again.

The immodium is an opiod that can't cross the blood brain barrier. It slows down your bowels in the same way that opiates/opioids do it. People will sometimes take higher than suggested amounts of immodium to help with withdrawals.

Physicians are now starting to see people come in that took 50-100 and they start to develop cardiac issues that can be lethal.
