Well i said congrats... its just bacteria, not the end of the world.

And we also say its bacterial cuz of how the mycelium looks and its overly wet cuz we can see how over hydrated and plump the pins are.

Thanks on the congrats!

Well, it's funny...the surface was completely dry (I fanned it for a while) and I misted it right before I took the picture lol. It usually doesn't look like this.

Dude that substrate is extremely bacterial, and it has trich.  your substrate is also extremely too saturated. Itโ€™s your first grow, I think we know a tad bit more. Weโ€™re not insulting you or anything, trying to help you learn. The better surface condition the better the pinset. After you harvest go bury it somewhere or something.
I get youโ€™re excited and itโ€™s well founded but people give u advice or tell u whatโ€™s going on you canโ€™t just shoot them down and act like you know more.
Let that thing dry out a bit and give it more air donโ€™t mist. You donโ€™t want to mist let alone drown your pinset.
Light misting if need be but that thing is drenched. You can cause them to abort. Enjoy your fruits. man.
Also, be careful when disposing of it, you donโ€™t want the trich to release spores in your grow area.

Please don't assign me motives. I'm just a newb entering a new domain...and when I enter any new domain, I like to ask questions and learn. Please don't assume I disregarded what you guys said--I learned a lot and you are most likely right.

All that being said...as I sit here and eagerly await...

I'm fascinated by the way--do to all the nooks and crannies--the pins form sideways and then perk up to the light. I don't see this in traditional monotubs/shoeboxes. It probably happens underneath the flat surface. But watching them pin like this has been more entertaining.

For my next grow, I might pop some grains in a coir sub, put a clear plastic bag in the shoebox...form the sub into a just smaller "cake", seal it, let it colonize, and then put it back in the shoebox when done, and continue to grow them without a traditional "flat" surface.

Always wonder why people ask how it's looking, then disagree with the major consensus....
Anywho, If most folk are saying it's lookin gritty, just get what you can out of it and move to the next project. or if you have a bunch going on, get the gritty one away from your pretty ones...

point was, so if you know that your sub is all dandy, why did you start a thread asking peoples opinion just to tell them they're wrong? Take the opinions and advice in mind to reduce bacterial infestations or at least better notice the signs... or just say they're wrong and enjoy continuing to grow bacteria in denial..

The point is, thats not healthy. Can we get this guy some picz of healthy subs?? I have a new phone so i cant.

Fyi just because its fruiting doesnt mean its not contaminated. But that things got so much bacteria, i dont even know if its possible for that to get trich

Im not making assumptions, just noting your denied rebuttal... Not "most likely right", it's snotty as hell... bacteria is obvious when you learn to recognize it, and that shit has got the funk my friend...

Trich will take over before second flush comes in :2cents:

This is one of my first grows from probably a decade ago... got some monsters out of it but it was the same as yours in the bacterial infection part.

No worries and congrats. Now you know what to look out for!
