 Tomentose caused by organic food coloring!

Over the last few weeks, playing with agar, all my dishes were all tomentose, except the very first agar I ever did.
After that, I used food coloring. Even transferring perfect rhizomes to my agar, within a day, all tomentose. Well, figured it out. The second ingredient in the red color organic food coloring I use is invert sugar,which is sugar water, the third ingredient is vegetable juice ( more sugar) They're getting overdosed with sweetness. If your using food coloring in your agar, and getting constant tomentose plates, this is may be the cause. Check the ingredient list on the box. Maybe organic isn't always best.

It's fairly light food coloring, hence 4-5 drops per 250ml

I know this is besides the point of the post, but why red? Red can hide things like lipstick mold. I use on drop of blue and get some good looking plates that are very easy go spot contaminations in.

Lipstick mold...Man that shit is not common. What is common is white, green, and black molds. And for those red agar contrasts better.
