Spiky Hairs on stems(I don't think its fuzzy feet) Need expert opinion.

Hey all, thanks for helping.
Got some a+ plus here and they have spiky hairs up the stems. I have looked at pictures illustrating fuzzy feet, fuzzy feet seems to be more fluffy than spiky like this.
Does anyone know whats happening here?

That's fuzzy feet. Conditions are a little humid there.. mist a little less often, fan a little more. No Big Deal though :shrug:

Fuzzy feet... need increased FAE, and decreased misting... evaporation is a pinning trigger, and can't occur if you mist obsessively...I think the consistency of response is pretty telling

I use unmodified tubs with the lid flipped from spawn for FAE... it's polyfil... it's not cotton, it's synthetic and better contaminant resistance... micropore tape layered over the holes works as well, and has the added advantage of maintaining adjustability  (adding or removing strips of tape) while freeing up the impeded surface area a big ball of stuffing takes up

No, this is my second grow. I guess cotton wool wouldn't work since its too soft.

... no... it won't work because it's organic and will harbor contamination... also likely to be a fucking mess of fibers everywhere

Okay, I didn't realise I could still get contamination at this stage. When you flip the lid do you turn it slightly? It's more or less sealed with my lid upside down.

All good man. Unmodified tub lids are just flipped but I guess every lid is different. If you're adjusting more than that you're probably trying to dry a sub that's too wet.

"..." is just a transition in thought for me... essentially just "." But I've an intimate relationship with the number 3 lol ... not likely to contaminate at this point, but could mean the difference between success and failure if there were bacteria present at spawn... polyfil can be reused...

Thanks for the feedback. I will now mist only once per day. Leave the lid open just a tiny bit.

Only mist when the surface moisture has nearly evaporated completely... never on a schedule... with proper feild capacity at spawn,  I rarely end up misting prior to first flush harvest... worth noting that I don't typically see surface moisture until a day or two after full colonization...
