replenishing old casings with new jars?

a foaf has a casing going that just finished its third flush. he had a minor battled with mold after the second flush but it has been isolated and removed and hasn't come back at all. he was wondering if instead of scrapping the casing, to use the existing casing as a bottom protective layer and putting more substrate on top and topping it off with the 50/50 mix used in the casing. i know it is at greater risk for contams but would this work well if done right?

bad idia, just make a new casing for the substraight, if you are doing this cuz you have no more spawn, i would suggest starting a new casing and mixing a bit of the old casing in as spawn
