Re: CO2 doesn't sink. CO2 myths and misconceptions. [Re: mushboy]

Tripdawg, I think you're stuck in thinking about air circulation. Yes, to get air circulating in currents it works best to have multiple holes so one hole can be an inlet and another can be the outlet.

Diffusion doesn't need air currents, though. It's based on the random movements of molecules in a gas (and to a lesser extent in liquids). Some molecules scatter from the tub to the room, while others come from the room and bounce in the tub. The net effect is that there's still an equal amount of air in the tub and outside it, only some of the molecules have been randomly swapped around.

I've read all of Bod's posts on his unBodified Tek and i don't find set and forget to be the point. The point is Cubes tolerate Co2 quite well. even with only a small crack at the top his lighting will create enough convection for FAE and surface humidity is not lost through any holes. It's not set and forget, you open it to check progress and surface conditions, mist if necessary or crack the lid more if too wet. Bod shows us how stupid simple shrooms can be. Gas diffusion aside (nice science though).Thank You Bod.

You keep saying no one has explaned it but its been shown and explained in this thread multiple times in detail. Diffusion of gasses isn't rocket science, it's high school level chem and physics. Mushrooms don't expire a ton of Co2, small opening in lid allows for fast diffusion of Co2 and Oxygen, mushrooms don't suffocate and die and humidity remains high.

There are a number of factors that create air movement/current within the tub itself including at the sub surface...not sure what you dont understand about it? Air that rises away from the sub surface due to thermal convection and air density differences caused by humidity must be replaced by other air and its a continuous process

Just for good measure.
