hi

i use tapwater for my cakes, and i wondered if chlor. slows down mycel growing,
and i should use distillted watre instead....

any idea?

I try no to use either tap or dh2o, but instead i preffer
bottle spring water. Tap water looses the chlorine quite fast
once out the pipes, and if you boil it then it will all be gone.

I just preffer bottle spring water, as you dont need to do anything to sterilise it and can use it straight from the bottle, so it still has good amounts of o2 in it.

Distilled water has no o2 :frown:

chlorine evaporates out either by sitting over night or during sterilization, the bottled water is better to use because there's fewer additives like flouride and chlorine... I'm lucky enough to have spring water from my tap... provided by the city

ill have to go with everyone else, bottled spring water... isnt chlorine an antibacterial? my health teacher said it damages mycelium and slows it down.
