So at the end of my first flush I got 51g (dry) "I know, not great" and I learned a few things.
1) my sub was a little to dry. I used 4Qt of water and it was wet enough to get the tiniest drop of water out of it when I squeezed it as hard as I could. The mushrooms were on average about 2-3" tall.
2) by the very end of this flush the feet on the mushrooms were very fuzzy indicating they weren't getting enough fae. The mono tub I made was great for humidity but bad at fae. I needed to fan at least 2-3 times a day and with Christmas/work I just didn't get it done. I built a new tub last night for the next grow. Oysters:grin:
3) Experiment - Last night I picked the rest of the mushrooms and left the tiny pins. I poured 3L of DI h2o into the bottom of my mono and placed another tub on top with some weights to fully submerge it. (I simple greened the entire outside of that tub and wiped it down after with DI h2o.) After 6 hours (this morning) I drained the excess water (about. 5L.) Did I mention that I made more bucket pasteurized substrate last night for those oysters I mentioned above? I took some of that sub and added it along the sides of the tub where the cake shrank, and I filled in the holes from where I picked all the mushrooms. I also added about 1/4" of a casing layer as well. I wanted to try to even the surface out a bit because it was really bumpy last time and the pin set wasn't the best. Wish me luck I hope this works for flush #2:mushroom2::crazy2::mushroom2:
