I'd probably only do unmodded lids for LC jar or watman filters. But I prefer unmodded because of swirling and shaking. And preferably a lid that seals shut. GE doesn't build up in Those quantities over a short period of time from a tiny LC culture. That's what my gut tells me at least caude I couldn't provide facts to back this up except anecdotal jibberish...

And I don't mean any glass jars with metal lids that don't seal. I'm talking about those laminated aluminium lids with the rubber band on underside that seals hermetically against the brim of the jar with a really short turn of the lid, maybe 1/8th of a turn. Those are the only lids I shake LI or LC in without worrying too much about stuff.

I use 2.5dl jars for LI and LC. Don't see the point of bigger jars for my needs, easier to pour as well.
If I'm sterilizing these lids that seal then I loosen for the PC cycle with foil on top and tighten when pressure equlises and I gain access to the jars. But with unmldded grain jars with somewhat warped lids I just screw them on fairly tight and they will never seal during the cycle cause they're practically unable to without the rubber band second part lid.

Got ape and peu on grains. Clean cultures, so grains should be fine. My question is about casings, since this is my first attempt with any pe variety. Do these varieties need one? Ans if so, just a "pseudocasing with my substraight or I see alot if people using seed starter "jiffy mix" Thanks in advance.

Lol nice unit. It's a good size.
I don't use foil on those unmodified caps. No need imo, but its just fine as a precaution.

That sucks, did even question it?
I've been pre bagging my coir in my down time, those are just cheap 5 gal garbage bags off Amazon. I dump the water right in the bag, twist it up. I can fit two bags at a time in the buckets. Less mess to clean up as well.

If you're asking me if the cops questioned it no they didnt see it... it was a person only warrant not a raid ... so they didnt even come all the way up to the house I live on 2.5 acres so i walked out to see why they were trespassing and I'm glad I didnt come off as a dick cause the locals were pretty decent they didnt bust my balls in front of my kids or nothing let me walk out to their car.. I was in jail for a week before even knowing what really happened.. Haha.. anyway I lost alot of projects that day to the goats and compost pile Haha

That's good to hear. Not all cops are dick bags. Last year I had a handful of instances that involved cops, one officer really saved my ass. We happen to like the same local breakfast dive, so I picked up his bill a few times after that as a thank you.
I'm glad to have you back on the boards. Now I'm just waiting to see if shooman comes back. Heard he had some bad luck couple months ago. Been Mia since.

Hitler was nice to his dog and immediate family. That's how cops are. Maybe you got a favor but they royally fucked someone else or watch it happen daily.
