Followed Bod’s tek using 500ml/10g/10g/1g MEANY with a drop of wiltons gel coloring.

Both bottles came out of suspension after the pc cycle.  I did not realize this until after I’d poured the first bottle.  It got thicker at the end of the plates.  Most never solidified.  I swirled the second bottle which allowed that set of plates to solidify but there are tiny bubbles in the agar.

Wtf.  My last pour was fine.

Last time, I added the yeast flakes directly with the MEA, added the water, shook it, boiled in in the microwave, shook it again and PC’d them.

This time I added the MEA to the bottle then poured 500ml of boiled water through a coffee strainer with NY, shook and PC’d them.

A couple of questions:
Is skipping the microwave step a problem?  I thought I read there was no need to pre-boil prior to the PC cycle?
Is that was caused the agar to fall out of suspension?  Is it something else?
Any issues with using the plates with tiny bubbles?

My T1's from my Pan.Cyan. Jamaika. Should I make another transfer or just hit up some LC with it and spawn it?

These don't like quite clean to me yet but it's so hard to tell with the poor pic quality and the plastic bag :shrug: . I'd transfer again.

Thanks Rusty, was also thinking of making a nother transfer. Just wanted some more opinions :laugh:

1pic going to transfer between 5 and 6 o'clock. With the second one I am not so sure

edit: it's LMEY-Agar, that's why it's a bit cloudy

Well you were close. Didn't make a mess but it did melt to the plates, peels off pretty easy though. I now realize it was shrink wrap I had been looking up. Just ordered some and I'm gonna try again.

The stacks wrapped in just foil turned out great, wrapped them with cling wrap in the SAB

Cling wrap FTW :rockon: I finally broke down and bought a $15 PVC cutter to cut my rolls and I have no idea why the fuck I didn't do that to begin with. I cut the entire roll of cling wrap into 1" rolls in about a minute. And the best part is I didn't take the edge off my nice knives doing it!

$15 Kobalt 1.5" PVC cutter from bigbox. It is ratcheting but only has like 3...ratchets?..steps?..it only clicks like 3 times and the cut it done. Beautiful investment
