That's probably 10g agar agar, 10g malt extract and w/e else.

Not all agar is created equal btw. When I was using freeze dried blocks 10g wouldn't even fully disolve in 500ml. 8 was the most I could do.

Judging by how stiff my current agar turns out at 10g for 500-600ml, I'm pretty sure I could go down to 7 and still solidify.

That is super firm. For regular agar, people will use 10g per 500ml of water. For softer agar about 7g is a good space. 27ish grams of agar for half a liter of water is going to be mega firm.

it is quite firm, Although at this ratio i can store blank plates for 6+ months perfectly fine at room temp.

I bet they recommend such a high Agar : Water ratio so you go through more and have to buy more from them

What made you unhappy with it?
Ive been using it for years with no issues, always good results.

it last me for ever to i dont have to buy again vary often and its just easy to grab it pre mixed and use.

You need yellow to make green. If your yellow is from yellow #5 (tartrazine) I'm not surprised your myc is all fucked up. Considering what it does to human. That said, that's just a late night theory not backed up by anything but my imagination.

I used it for yrs also then I dunno if I got bad batches or something but all my cultures became weak and wispy. Even new clones or germination of spores.
