Condensation in no-pour/pre-pour plates. Four stacks of 7 plates, only 6 have condensation. The top one or two plates in each stack. These are my usual results using the pre-pour method. The wet plates go on the bottom and by the time I get to them they usually dry up. Alternatively I'll use them for spore germ if I have the chance

Let me save you the time.

12PK Plastic Petri Dishes with Lids - 3.75" Diameter, 0.5" Depth - Molded in Polypropylene - Reusable, Autoclavable - Translucent - Eisco Labs https://a.co/d/flxhgnq

I tape them shut with two layers of micropore tape, not sure if it's necessary but I'm not really willing to waste a batch finding out.

Stack them 7 or 8 high and wrap in foil. Using the wide foil if you make a square the size of the roll you can sit the stack in the middle of the square and fold it up around the stack. No worrying about water levels or anything. In fact I screwed up and filled the pc for a two hour cycle for this run so they were pretty much sitting in the water and it didn't click in my brain until I was already at pressure

You can check the plates in this tekhere. I use these cause I felt bad throwing so much plastic out. I wish they were a bit more clear but I can deal with it to cut down my waste.

Watch what state you move to for gun laws. Lol some of us still are very restricted.

Yes, I feel that. I went through all sorts of containers and my biggest issue was always width. Even half pints are barely 80mm, plus you can't see through the lid but I do have a way to make clear lids for half pints with two piece lids..

I looked at glass petris too, super expensive and a lot of people I've seen complain about how slippery they can be.

You do go through a lot of fucking tape just FYI but IIRC it's like 19 CAD for a pack of 12

yeah, there is an upfront cost for sure. got mine off amazon, like $25 for a 10 pack if you find the right deal. i have about 50 plates but every time i reuse them the price i paid goes down (;

if youโ€™re doing HUGE bulk or need like 100 agar plates ready to go at all times it sucks for sure. but even juggling 20-30 plates, if you donโ€™t have 15 separate cultures going & utilize G2G or LC for your big grows you can still grow bulk really well

i donโ€™t blame anyone for just using plastic tho
