I wanted to try a couple of different recipes because I was getting shit results from the 100% oat GSW agar I'd been using (I have previously had reasonable results with WBSGSWA though:shrug:)

The transfers were taken from the same APE & GT germ plates.

#1 is 20% diluted oat GSW + 2% cat food + 2% agar.

#2 is 20% diluted oat GSW + 2% potato starch + 2% agar

#3 is 20% diluted oat GSW + 2% agar

Looks like the CFA and diluted oat GSW are working best for me atm. The potato starch looks like it didn't dissolve properly but even so it's still not doing as well as the diluted GSW only.

So ima be using CFA from now on and play with quantities to see can I get better results

Hey, at least there's some myc in there.
I got a Malabar ss from a non-sponsor that showed no visible spores, just a bit cloudy and after a few tries, first brf cakes then agar, only slimy bacteria, I gave up. It was pure whatever you've got there.

Remember that time I posted about this? Well, they came... and woah, I see why they were on sale. They're a bit janky on the finish (weird lines on the exterior), so it's kinda like a rejects sale. Still work at least... But damn they ugly!

I got two media bottles, 1000ml, from Amazon that were  made out of pmp, they are great for pouring agar overall very satisfied. 2 bottles were 19$ I believe. I'll see if I can get a link, if anyone is interested.

Not that cheap anymore, they are now 70$, good bottles overall but not 70$ good.

There's some up there right now for $15 for 2 1000ml media bottles:

Hey ya’ll- was wondering what different concentrations of ingredients you guys use for what purposes.

I sometimes go a little light on agar, 8g to 10g of ME to 500ml water to germinate spores.

Also going a little light on nutrients to get more rhizomorphoc, less tomentose growth with something like 10g agar to 7.8g ME to 500ml of water.

Is this info still current? How do you guys do things?

I've been using 4.5g agar powder and 7g LME to 500ml of water... makes the agar soft and wet: ideal for spore germination and SAGARI

Yup, 9g A and 15 LME per Qt works for everything and doesn't feel rubbery tough when working. Still a little firm for blenderless though, at least with Telephone™.

I did see your write up recently caps. I like it. Looks like a good mixture for a specialized purpose. It seems borderline LI, and could still be easily turned into LI, which is still dumb simple compared to LC.

Blenderless and telephone FTW, tho. Your mixture, duhrwood, is nearly the same ratio as caps.
Are many ppl going light on agar and nutrients for everything nowadays to avoid specialized recipes?
