Really liking how this PESH looks. It rips across the agar insanely. I have some no pours where it literally climbed the walls nearly to the lid on a 100mL container that is like 2 inches high.

Hm. I tested my flowhood for 12 hours with my plates sitting in front of it and some still had a bit of condensation. Mostly dried, but I must be pouring it way too hot I guess

I dont think there's a wrong way (within reason) but I do feel less agar per jar to be more forgiving due to the extra moisture... I do mine super soft though

Stacking them then rotate stacking the finished plates drops the condensation.

Meh yeah next time I'm not going to waste my time wrapping these just to unwrap and rewrap. It was odd using parafilm too lol. Agar is like gel also. I thought it was going to be harder than that. Lol.
Once I get this agar thing going.. I'll have a bomb ass rotation going I'm just really excited to start cloning !

Having a rotation certainly helps with antsy pants... always fruit to look at, can ignore my jars and colonizing subs lol

Thatβs one thing I loved about trading and receiving new prints. More agar work to do and lots of variety to choose from. Kinda slowed down on the trades recently though.
@Vibe- If you need some prints to work with I got some laying around you can have. Pm me and we can talk more.

So I tired my first plates. Inoculated on the 24th and so far no growth. 1/5 has become a little liquidy since inoculating but other than that nothing.
My two experiments, one thumb print on plate other open air, have grown mold. So I'm assuming agar has enough nutrition to grow something.
My question is how long do I keep these plates before moving on. Like I said first try at this.
Thanks in advance

Spores can take upto 6 weeks to germinate, though 3-5 days is typical IME... patience dude, day 4... I'd be concerned with no signs after 3 weeks

Sweet. I appreciate it man and I'm more than sure I will take you up on that offer brother! Right now I'm okay though, I've got a few different varieties of syringes and prints.. I don't want to get myself too overwhelmed just yet I will for sure let you know when I want to work with some more lol. I'm just starting to get my feet wet here. I did cakes.. bad experience. So I count this as my first real grow haha.

Right?? I can't stop peeping But, it's all in love lol. Mhhh when you guys take a transfer from the first plate and put it to a second plate.. do you guys keep the master plate and just see how it grows out if there wasn't any signs of bacteria when making the transfer from it?

Yes... I even refrigerate clean donors of plates that go to grain in the event I get a culture that performs particularly well, I'll have the parent plate to go back to (applies to clones more than MS though)

Yayayayyay. Do you consume small doses by any chance to figiure out which ones you really want to clone? Like taking.. let's say 3 clones from a shoebox... and you want potency. Do you like eat a microdose of the mushroom you cloned to see which of the 3 you feel the most and make that your 'clone of choice'.
Because on my shoebox I do want to obviously clone a fat fruit, but dont mean shit if it doesn't have potency lol. Sure plenty of people have ran into that problem.

I have a difficult time on small doses... 7g teas, 3-4 days apart is how I do my bioassays... of course, this is only feasible once all candidates have been grown side by side for comparisons in colonozation speed, time to harvest, phenotype, and yeild... if testing each fruit prior to running them, weigh the smallest fruit, and use that as your comparison dose: still a minimum of 3-4 days between doses for accurate comparison

So don't take the biggest fruit.. take 3 small fruits and compare them? I just want strong fruits and dont want to clone a monster fruit and it be weak as fuck ya know lol.

I've poured some plates for other work and have three I'll set aside for the RW spores. Do you hydrate prior to plating? I have a stack of sterile swabs from my supply bank:)...Best to just swipe spore and streak plate? I don't want to fuck up the RW! I've done MS and clones, not spores...just checking in. HH

MS stands for multispore which is what a print is comprised of. No need to hydrate.
