Nice! I love agar, except MEA which I’m sure i will grow to like by the time I’m done the giant freaking bag I bought.
I started a thread too which isn’t exactly taking off either lol but I had the same idea to consolidate things so they are easier to find. Btw, if anyone wants to share a recipe, the link is in my sig 😉

I’ll keep watching but the mycelium looks good and unaffected by whatever sediment or caramelization. I did not add sugar, does LME naturally have it?
For sure, taste it, it's yummy and sweet. Check this page on malt extract. http://www.maltexcofood.com/eng/extracto_malta.html

word, as long as one cathces and makes it easier for everyone lol. got my very very simple chocolate recipe on that post, interested on how your butter goes...
Anywho, I have only tried MEA so far, but a cheap pound bag of light malt seems to go a very very long way and is pretty clear, just a small amount of sediment, but I may just need to let it PC a tad longer to reduce that. So I wouldn't be able to help but recommend it.

I kind of feel silly for not ever looking up what ME actually is, thanks for that! I’m going to do some further investigation especially in the culinary uses.....

So I'm quite new to agar and am loving it.
Someone has just sent me a APE swab and I just want some advice because I don't want to mess it up (I only have one swab).
Currently I am using Pasty's no-pour agar recipe with potato flakes and karo around 2%.
What would your advice/tips be on getting successful growth from a swab?

My beer brewing buddy laughed when I mentioned concerns about my 3lb bag of lme powder caking, said that's only enough for one 5 gal keg of beer. It's a lot for agar though!

Trying to get some exotics going over the winter. Ps.cyanescens:T1

And I thought I was growing Pan cyan Jamaican, but now I really don't know what it is. I was told pan jam myc can turn blue with age.(bad pic,but has a blue tinge that came gradually. )

Also have galindoi going.(new pics later)

Some nice ks rhizo starting on a low nute plate
APE germ plate
T1 APE
Another APE germ plate with transfers taken.

I've not done any PE before. Does the myc just behave like normal cube myc?
