That’s a fairly average recipe. Like he said you’ll be ok, I’ve never had problems with plates like that either. The only time I had spores take forever was on plates with like 3g lme for 500ml.

I noticed when I did APE it took so long to colonize a plate and the myc was usually weak on the first plate or two. Maybe try upping your nutes or trying a new nute. BRF agar at 8g agar, 8g BRF, 400ml of water seemed to do the trick for me. Some people even break the swab off in the middle of the plate and leave it there.

Woo hoo! Upgraded the rack to 3" height finally.

Also changing to a dry SAB w/wet towel. Trying for fewer auto contams with my pouring.
BTW in case someone notices, yes I have tape over the hole in the table. :rofl:

Same. I've got a bunch of streaked plates that did absolutely nothing. Can only get growth off the tips sunken in the plate, but then inevitably gets taken over by bacteria and mold before I can save any of it. Such a pain in the ass.

I eventually managed to get one in 10 APE plates to germ, I was delighted but now it just feels like a constant fight against a fuckin persistent bacterial halo, I just can't shake it. Im on T6 now and its definately going to need to go to T7 & T8.

Pics? Caps seems convinced a halo is bacterial. But ime 9 times out of 10 it's just temp swings.

I've never had problems with germination, but I always end up with shit genetics... short little bastards... they are potent but they never get more than an inch or so tall...

That would be a nice realisation but I did try A2G at T3 or T4 and ended up with a jar that looked liked it was full of melted marshmallow

The one on the right looks like it’s got a big old bacteria colony about 630.

That first plate is beautiful though.

You reckon, I'm doubtful about going to grain with it due to the halo and how my last grain attempt went.

@trip I get where you coming from but I normally do 10 jar at a time, 9 receivers for G2G from a grain master and one spare for newer cultures. My 9 spawned fine with Thai and the one I used for APE went awry. I mean that doesn't rule out an error during the inoculation. It just makes me sceptical of the grain being at fault.

Haha no. I have been using mono's forever now. I did cakes for maybe a year before I switched. I took a break for 4 or 5 years. Had a live in girlfriend that wasn't into tripping and I had a bad experience from some alcohol extraction. I've been back at it for a couple years now. In all honesty, for whatever reason, maybe luck, I've never needed it. For years prior to my hiatus, and for a year after my hiatus I was making my own syringes from caps to lc to grain with 100% success rate. Winter 2019 it all went to shit. I got 100% contam rate from November to April. I was using some old syringes but still have not nailed down the issue so during that time I attempted to try agar to identify if contams was a spawn issue, or an environmental/sub issue. Had the wrong shit and still had no fucking luck so I just quit fucking with it. Now I'm getting monos to grow (4 Oz off my last mini mono) as well as the correct agar and pastt plates.

I’ve only known a couple people to do that but they both loved it.

So I was told of this thing. "the crystals of the gods" (people ooh and aahh in the background)

So I tried it. I got my hands on some 190 proof everclear, ground up some shrooms, forgive me I dont remember how much, it was a long time ago. simmered them up real good, then evaporated most of the alohol off, then put in the freezer for the crystals to form and sink the bottom. After that I put the 1/2 pint jar it was in, in a hot water bath to evap off a little more alcohol being careful to leave enough for the crystals to remain suspended in liquid, thus away from oxygen.

The night of the fiasco, a buddy and I were scooping little dabs of the crystals out with a butter knife, smearing them on the back of our hands and licking it off. Most of the night was amazing. It was a beautiful night, we were euphoric and happpy joking around, but visually not super trippping. Went to the bar and hung out, it was almost like ectacy in we were open an outgoing, talking to strangers, the music was amazing. Driving with the windows down and the radio up, awesome. nowhere else i would have rather been in that moment. We go back to the house to do a little more but the crystals were almost gone and hard to scrape up so I tilted the jar to just dip my tounge in the alcohol solution for a couple more drops, and accidentally poured it into my mouth. I felt it run all the way to the back of my tounge. I figured, well, here we go. Sat down to watch some cartoons and I started getting a Wawawawa kinda like nitrous but louder and more intense. Then anxiety kicked in. Then motor function went to 30%. I was out trying to walk off the anxiety, couldnt stop walking. But couldnt walk. So for like 2 hours I was staggering around my neighborhood like zombie, puking in random peoples from yards. I live the in the city, I went and laid in a school soccer field but there was a store about 300 yards away with alof of foot traffic. Mind you it was pitch black but every person I saw, my mind told me they were going to rob me, or report me. Realistically Im sure none of them even knew i was there. Then I had to call my girlfriend and tell her I was too fucked up to get her from work after her bar closed. So not only was it terrible, when I came down I had a live in girlfriend that treated me like a junkie for 2 days because I "did too many drugs to fufill my responsibility of picking her up"

I still have the visine bottle of the fluid with some crystals in my freezer.

Turns out, with more research, the fucking crystals arent even psilocybin. Its just salt crystals! lol

Ah ok the guys I knew that loved it didn’t do the crystals. Idk the exact process but I think they just did a shot as a dose.

I think Im beginning to see growth on my first plates. Its only been a few about 4 days since inoculation so maybe its bacterial contamination around the spores. My sterile tek was terrible when I poured these and I kinda screwed up the agar recipe. Hopefully its good growth and I can transfer in a few more days.

I streaked 5 germ plates with an APE swab and only got one germ point after 2 weeks. . .
Does that mean that the colony is pretty much an isolate?

T1 plates are awful regular growth. . .
