Just found a huge crack on my fucking media bottle, there's my culprit!!! Damn pyrex ain't what it used to be.
Guess time to switch back to a hot sauce bottle. Lost 100 plates now.
I did some transfers with an inoculation loop and I got some nice bacterial streaks

A.k.a said: Well these plates are kind of best case scenario for speed. They’re low nute plates with pin clones which are usually a lot faster than regular myc. And on top of that it’s like 85 degrees all day now.
Usually it takes around three weeks for a plate to grow all the way in.
Question: This speed you speak of... if one was to make an LI syringe with one of these fast plates, could the LI leap faster too?

Probably. But id imagine once it started eating the grain it would slow down.
I’m curious how long pin myc is fast for though. Like does it go to normal when you transfer to a new plate?
Hopefully I’ll find out soon.

So Ive mentioned before how I just move old plates that need thrown out into a stack in the back of my shelf. I added a few more onto it today and thought Id take a pic of it just to show. Theres around 50 plates on that stack thats been waiting to get disposed of

I keep dumping contaminated agar in my compost and now my compost has some thick balls of mycellium. I wonder if it's cubes, pans, oyster, or lions mane!

I usually dig a shallow hole in the mulch in my backyard and empty plates in there and then fill the hole back in. But something around here likes to dig them up and munch on them . Last time I dumped about a dozen pucks in there, came back 2 or 3 days later to look and they were all gone.

Got a few piles in the backyard as well, just realized all these pines are most likely not going to ever allow me outdoor fruits

I had this syringe of GT LI that is still trippin me out... leapt like crazy in 24 hours... looked like a slurry. Happened to be from a fast growing plate from a direct clone of a petri pin. I kinda don't think thats the cause, but I sure wanna find out. It was so cool!

That's how I dumped my plates a few days ago. I wonder if it's going to work. Sth like 10 various cubensis plates in there.

I cleaned out over 100 plates, dumped them all in a flower pot and tossed a little fresh dirt on them. Maybe they will do something, or maybe not ??♂️

My agar has colonized my compost, not sure if it will fruit in the bin.
But as I lay it down around the garden maybe we can get some fruits.

If it colonized, it's very possible you're going to get some fruits IMO.

Some of em are for sure. A lot of MS germ plates. And I dont like keeping around a lot of plates I already took transfers from.

They're just not transfer or inoculation worthy. I don't like hoarding a shit ton of plates just for the sake of it. And also, I'm using glass, so I just do a selection of what's worth keeping once in a while and toss some stuff out to make dishes available for new transfers.

I'm on T5 and keep getting this kind of spot looking growth following around the rings in the myc.
Is this something to be concerned about?
