Those are all beautiful.
I've been meaning to start keeping some SM for a little informal collection of oddities.
Mainly because I found a bright green one recently on a clone plate. Procrastination stole it. Next time I looked, the SM was completely swallowed by white cube myc, top to bottom.

I'm sure it's in there somewhere tho. Idk.

Taking my first steps with agar. These look decent right? I took transfers from both of these to another plate, but could these be already okay to use after growing out.




Second plate was tricky to take a picture of, because of the condensation. It’s not as rhizomorphic, but still neat and uniform to my eye.

In my eyes, those both look good to go. The top plate for sure. The bottom is harder to see but I reckon it is just as good.

Pet? Spirit animal? Trying to pollinate the spores?

new to the hobby. is this contaminated? I noticed the defined line about three or four days after the transfer and then the stuff on the edge grew extremely fast. some kind of mold?

Yeah, mycelium that grows way faster than the rest and looks different is an almost sure sign of mold contamination. That's an interesting plate, almost looks raised up at the threshold.

Hope you have the donor plate still. :smile:

Actually, it's an SL160, but close enough. I love the genius design with the cascading gain stages, and I'm a tube amp guy.

I can't tell if it's a 160 or 260, but I had an A212 in the 80's and it ripped.
