Ah good question, I think music is way more subjective and forgiving. Being a musician myself I've had what I considered to be horrible performances. The amazing thing about that is other than the band and myself no one else seemed to notice. I've also never performed live on LSD so can't weigh in on that aspect.

There is no doubt that when tripping you can lock into a highly focused and meditative state.

I just wanted to point out that Doc really didn't pitch his best but the result was still a No hitter.
