Your farts sound great, balls, but I could see companies getting around it by moving out of the country altogether.

If it were to make any company selling goods to the US comply with our standards, it might be more effective. It also might hurt trade quite a lot.

I think he was trying to make all companies worldwide abide by it which is why I didn't think it was realistic and would be a nightmare to impliment.

Oh, I thought it was just meant to get American based companies on board. Well, yeah, you can't really get the entire world to do anything. We couldn't even force freedom on Vietnam.

That could really hurt us if we do not get the rest of the first world on board. They can buy cheap foreign goods, we can't, so they will progress faster with downstream innovations than we would. It also seems incredibly ripe for corruption.

Ok, I see. I misread your original post lol... I think we're on the same page then.

I think that would be a boldly ethical move, which is not exactly our MO here in the US. It would come at an economic cost, that could potentially be quite serious, don't you think?

It seems like it would make America look like some kind of bipolar mental patient to do such a drastic reversal of Trump style policies. We currently have people arguing on behalf of coal at climate change gatherings.
