Mycelium or Contams?

I am unsure wether my first ever try at this has been successful.
I have lots of white growth, mostly down the sides of the jar where the spore solution ran down the glass. It looks like the pics I have seen of mycelium, but could be cobweb mold (judging from the pics in the contam faq). Is there a way to determine if its good or bad growth? Any help will be helpful and any information will be informative.
Thanks in advance,

cobweb will usually take over the jar in a day or two. Mycelium is also much whiter than cobweb. You could crack the jars to sniff them but be careful with that as some are very dangerous. Best to kind of waft the air under your nose. Just wait it out and see if what lookds like mycelium keeps growing. Also it will sometimes grow rhizomorphs which are like rope strands of white where cobweb looks like it sounds. Hope this helps.

Yes, this helps a bit, but my inexperience is my downfall. The growth didnt occur until late in the 4th day. As for the smell, I wouldnt know what to smell for. I also dont know how white mycelium is versus cobweb. I will look out for the ropes that you speak of.

Oh, only four days. That's perfect. I bet you're doing fine. Don't open them, just let those babies incubate (if you have one). Be patient and in two- three weeks you should be almost ready to birth.

Not all strains grow rhizomorphs, so no ropes is _not_ a sign of cobweb. Don?t go open your jars yet, no reason to. You can just wait and see. Or could you post a pic?
Good luck on your first grow!

I will post a pic asap. On one of the jars I see what appear to be rope-like structures reaching out in a fan shape. But only in one of the jars. I will post that and some of the part that just looks kind of fuzzy.
Thanks for the help you guys.

now they are all (only 4) showing signs of these litte white 'fingers' reaching across the jars. Hopefully I can get hold of the Digi soon.
Thanks for all the help. I appreciate it.

Yeah that really sounds like mycelium. Cobweb mold is also very whispy and lossely covers the surface. You can see right through cobweb mold but mycelium gets really thick and white. You will know cobweb when you see it.

IME cobweb covers the surface well before it works down into the substrate. If you see white below the surface, you're probably ok.
Cobweb looks like cobwebs.

Heres the pics. One to show the 'whiteness' of the growth and one to show the detail.
