You should use hardwood chips.
They are 26-27 days old! They are growing so slow!

I've seen people say that psi. cyans are contam resistant on brf cakes. That they will just eat any contams that arise.

The question I'm having trouble answering is: Do they act similarly on grains?

Can do just about anything with these without getting a clean culture on agar, would be a shame if the only thing you needed it for was grains.

The government project has some lil success now

They cut down to forming almost all of the trees here in my town, and they dropped the chips on a walkway next to a little creek. Of course me and my friend made some millet spawn, and "salted" the area well  Now, when the big rains come, I can see some cyan pins, maybe next year they continue the mulching, because it is a project for the town's facing  And our cyans continue to grow    I love it

We plan to spread more strains into the chips because the walkway is about a kilometer long and we will have some place for Subs, and ovoids too

The center is more pressed, so fruiting will occur on the roadside , but imagine those runners and bikers, and dog walkers spreading all of the spores along the way. Oh my god I cant wait to be retired.

Just wanna say, because I'm happy... in two years I won't need to grow in my cellar them, because I got cool flushes outside in spring and autumn

There has been an idea doing the rounds that the caramel cap woodlovers are tuned in to seasonal changes and will fruit indoors in sync with the outdoor season. It's clearly not the case (as you've proven Moricz) and there are other indoor fruitings which occured out of season.

This may be the last update of my outdoor Allenii bed,it's going to snow tonight and hard frost is coming in the next few days.
Having 2 pots Allenii that are pinning maybe will move them to the shed or cover them with plastic sheet and put them under the terrace roof.

So read about feather's WL-Tek with paper-pallets, CaCO3 and some extra nutrition.

I decided to give it a try and came on my first problem of finding the right water-pallets ratio.

After several tests,  i got a maximum water content of 32g water on 20g paper-pallets.

So i had some spawn rdy and wanted to do some experiments. I also had some woodchips < 5mm alrdy soaking in water for 4 days.

I took 150g paper-pallets and 50g woodchips, 200ml , added CaCO3 and some nutrition ( it is pretty light, and liquid alrdy, so slightly different than the tek ) and microwaved it 4 minutes. After adding the spawn, i had some mixed pallets over so i decided to do 2 small containers and add a small layer of coir on the other one to fill it up.

That was on the 13th of november.

On the 14th they looked like this: (Spawn: top whatdafuckenMix haha, bottom woodchips )

So now it is more than 2 weeks later and maybe it is just the fact that i didnt saw much till yet, but that works best for me at the moment. It grows very fast, wasn't sterilized, did not contam at all, i can not even see the famous "metabolites" i am reading a lot of. ( or maybe i am just noobie haha ) so take a look:

While these were doing their thing, i did some more experiments, but without taking pictures. I did make a excel-sheet for personal reference:

I have to say, that i opened these every 2 days on open air without a SAB or gloves. The lids are more than imperfect but hold some moisture inside. i hold my breath when they where open, thats all.

So while these tests where doing their thing, i wondered on day 7 if it is even possible to get a contam on this mixture so i did another small container, mixed 100g paper-pallets and 25g of woodchips and placed it in my bathroom, without any lid in-front of the window. I am misting "it" daily with tap water to keep it moist.

Now it is day 9 and i dont know, but i dont get a contam ?! No CaCO3, but nutes, not sterile, moistened with tap water, open air, 22°C take a look:
( Pic right after spraying )

And the last thing i did (23th) was taking 100g paper-pallets, added nutes and about 250ml of water ( ~ 300g in total ) and "pressed" it on top of rye grain spawn. I rly added that much pallets, so when i pressed it, the water came out a bit. I had some over but thats when i stopped, then added the lid on top and placed it to the rest.

Thats it today:

This is on purpose way over field capacity, but it looks only like minimal slower speed.

Feather told me to post my results here so here we go

Edit: Ahh i forgot, they are all azurescens

Also i used all of the 11 tests for another experiment, which is a way larger scale.
