PE not fruiting, help!

Dear friends,
I started 2 projects 14 days ago:

1.Hawaii
2.Penis Envy(Supa Envy/Thick Dick)

Hawaii finished 1st flush on day 10,
but my penis has not even shown any signs of development on day 14.
Does any one have any tips/info for me on how to make my penis grow? :laugh:
Special watering/airing/lighting/massage/supplements/etc? anything?
Don't overestimate my knowledge - I'm Supa n00b.

Generic viagra.  Trade name is mycoxaflopin.  It helps.

Use a Peat based casing.  Looks like you have a verm casing.

This link is a great pe guide.  I use jiffy seed starter mix.  I slowly bring to field capacity, then you have to properly pasteurize. 

If your unfamiliar with any of that, it's great info to search and become familiar with in this hobby.

PE is notoriously slow at fruiting. Just keep it in the right conditions, you'll be pitching tents sooner or later

Yea I've been misting this and allowing to evaporate and It didn't fruit in 10 days, so I started misting a lot more for a few days, it started smelling a bit weird so I gave it a little rest. Aired and misted it 3x today again allowing to evaporate in between.. hope it wakes up soon :frown: :smile:

You say it smells weird? Like what? Sour? Can you describe the smell? Does it still smell?

A combination of drying out and over misting, leaves you with a matted surface.  That's the leathery shinny look I see in the picture.  A casing layer will help prevent this.  At this point, I'd practice my pasteurization skills and put together a proper casing for this thing.

Substrate is rye/verm with a top layer of verm. Or did you cultivate and spawn this box yourself?

Anyway, last time I saw these grow kits was when a friend had a few a couple of years ago. I will never forget what my thoughts were about his particular grow kits when he asked me one day to take a look at them. I was 99.8% sure they were totally fucked, surface was as flat as a glass table, also looked to be the same density as glass. Looked like someone ironed and burned the substrates flat and rock hard. :facepalm: I didn't have the heart to tell him that he shouldn't have expectations. Couldn't believe my eyes when he suddenly shows me photos of all boxes fruiting just fine.

I still have no clue how those substrates fruited from the hard rubbery flat surface :shrug:

What I'm trying to say is give it more time, 2 weeks without seeing pins is nothing to panic over. Give it at lest 3 weeks before taking more drastic measures.

If it were anything other then PE I'd agree.  PE does take longer to fruit,  But also benefits heaviy with a proper casing.  I struggled with my PE untill I decided to attempt a proper casing.  I believe he would increase his chances of a greater success, with a proper casing.

I'm not so good with smells but I guess you could maybe say it was sour wood smell or something, but it doesn't smell like that any more, a bit sweeter now maybe, why what does it mean?

Yea, this is a complete kit, The surface was like that from the beginning, my guess is it was because the lid was pressing real hard at the surface when I got it and yea it was almost like someone took an iron to it and pressed real good :laugh: It also feels much heavier than the other kit.

Ok I will give it a total of 1 month to see if it doesn't start fruiting, then I will have to take some action by adding some more casing I guess..  However, instead of casing it would it help if I just peeled off the top rubbery part after waiting a total of 1 month?
Also for some reason I have a weird craving to take a fork to it and stabstabstabstab the surface :laugh: what are your thoughts on that?
What's interesting for this particular kit is that it had different instructions say it didn't need any watering/misting till it started fruiting, only mist after first pins appear they said.

It's funny you say that. Back in the day, there was a bunch of people who used to "scratch the surface" with a fork and case.  By no means am I telling you to do it, but look up what others have done. It was a on off thing for a while but eventually went away.

haha nice :laugh: Well I have no idea what I'm doing but my noob gut is saying that it is too pressed and packed and that I should loosen up the PE surface somehow and/or peel off a little layer from the top :laugh:

I wouldn't peel it up,. But I don't fully disagree with a scratch and case. If you choose to scratch it up with a fork, go light.  You just want to break the matting of the surface. Not dig anything up.

Day 22 Penis Envy surface:


I'm super noob but on one of the sides I see some white balls which may be good news?

However, the bad news is it's on the side and the box is so packed no fruit would be able to push through.
Also this was the first time I examined the sides (they are always covered) so I don't even know if the white balls are new or not.
What do you guys think?
I can't decide how to proceed with this PE :frown:
Meanwhile its hawaiian brother is being hydrated for the 3rd flush already.
