day hikes in the southeast

hey everyone. i've been going on a lot of day hikes lately and am open to suggestions for trails to check out that i could do a stretch of in a day. i plan on getting into backpacking at some point, but being that i don't have any of the gear or money to drop on it, i'm sticking with day hikes for now.
i live in north georgia and have been checking out a lot of trails around the blue ridge/blairsville area, the northwest part of the state, east tennessee, and western NC. it's a fucking beautiful part of the country and i'm in awe of what i see on these trails.
anyway, some of the cooler and maybe lesser known trails i've been on around here are turtletown creek falls trail in TN, green mountain trail near blue ridge GA, the west palisades trail on the chattahoochee just outside of atlanta, and the first part of the benton mackaye trail near ellijay GA.
anyone have any recommendations or stories to tell?

I live nearby also.. There are endless trails in the blue ridge area and farther south.. I hike trails that are pretty easy for a dayhike and have waterfalls(bc my wife) There are many nice trails in the oconee county/pickens county area of sc with a bunch of waterfalls of varying size.
I tripped some great lsd(from a old shroomerite) up in ne georgia last month. Near rebun lake(awesome)

Yeah, count me in!!!
There are tons of great trails in this general area. The OP should consider the Cohutta Wilderness, it’s in his neighborhood, but it’s usually better for overnight trips. However, Beech Bottom Trail is 4 or 5 miles and is easy enough for a day trip. It takes you to Jacks River Falls, which is worth the effort.
