Is it possible to use a 5 gallon plastic pail to make dmt or will the solution eat through it?

Dear god how much are you making? It depends on what solvent you use, and what kind of plastic the bucket is.

Lol who said i was making any? Thats illegal and i am a law abiding citizen. Lets say if NaOH, or lye was used and the pail said HDPE with a 2 on it.

Most people extract (not make), synthesizing it is another technique but more rare and presumably resource/skill/time intensive and difficult.

Yes that is an important distinction. I am very familiar with the process but they dont makr t gallon mason jars.

A half-a-gallon jar is big enough for 250g of bark, or more. With 1.5% to 2% of alkaloids, 250g of mhrb lead to ~4g of dmt.
If you need to make more at once  just use a few of them and make several extractions simultaneously.

hdpe2 works fine with naphtha. Plop that 5gal bucket in the bathtub and run the hot water while you're reading the q21q21 tek.

It's much easier to just buy it off of the market. But yes more expensive.

NaOH will not harm the HDPE, your concern should be the bucket leeching plasticicers into solvent.
If you care use stainless steel
NaOH is not a toxin, there is even food grade NaOH, but it is corrosive

I'd say it is much harder to go to work to make enough money to buy the amount im talking about. 300 dollars a gram is pretty steep all things considered.
