Mexicans today are not idiotic. They know their history and they choose to be Catholics still.

That is my point.

Lol.

It’s amazing you believe that considering how the moral bankruptcy of the catholic church is now in plain sight.

What part of Catholicism do you like best? Is the the centuries of destruction of native cultures, or the way they protect abusers of children by giving them refuge inside the Vatican. Maybe it’s the ritualized cannibalism and vampirism that is a part of their religious ceremony.

You're not wrong, but I think you're missing the point. How is their acceptance any different from a cultural Stockholm syndrome?

It's a form of habituation, the fact that they keep choosing to practice it doesn't make it good. You could say the same thing about crack heads in inner cities. They know they were influenced and crack has eroded them, their neighborhoods, the culture etc, but it's not bad because they are cognisant and choose to continue doing it.

To be clear I am not against Catholicism. I'm analogizing to point out the flaws in your reasoning (they choose it so it's okay), not the subject of the choice(Catholicism). I am only analogizing to something negative (Stockholm syndrome and drug addictions) because that is something you will be able to see why the reasoning is flawed if you apply the same rational.

XUL, look up the word indoctrination. That was the central point of my post about
WHY they still practice catholicism.

Hmm.  Macron did work at Rothchild & Co Investment Bank for 9 years, it seems.

Not sure how raising fuel taxes has much to do with it, unless it's to avoid implementing financial transaction taxes, like the Tobin tax, which the world sorely needs, and investment bankers oppose.  The whole usurious  industry needs to be radically reformed if not outlawed.

Anyways, anyone who could possibly approve of the investment banking scene is no one I'd want as a head of state.

But most people I hear talk about this start slamming Jews!  Its really weird.  People of any religion or nationality can be usurers, from your fiendly payday loan centre to your credit card company to the bank you have a mortgage with, to all those Wall St firms siphoning billions off of the backs of hard working people, to the international institutions of usury like the IMF and World Bank which condemn nations around the world to permanent poverty.

Fuck usurers.  Leave Jews alone.

Going after central banks is just a convenient way to blame Jews for capitalism failing.

It's because the Jews started the whole usury practice to begin with. Banking has benefits, but in many ways it's implemented within the world banking system it's essentially a pyramid scheme and the people that started it, the Jews, are at the top. Look up the history of banking and money lending.

Jews only became prolific bankers in Europe because Christians thought it was a sin, and that was often the only job available to Jews.

Yeah, that's the reason. The only reason John robbed Jim is because he had the new Nike Jordans and that was one of the few ways to get Jordans. Saying something "only" happened due to a root cause doesn't somehow excuse the action itself.

Why does the act of lending money for interest need an "excuse?"

I didn't claim it did, I was responding to vroomer based on his supposition of, "Fuck usurers.  Leave Jews alone." As far as history goes they are one in the same, it's like saying fuck drug dealing, leave drug dealers alone.

There are plenty of Jews who are not involved with usury.  And there are plenty of usurers who are not Jews.

If every single Jew on Earth was a usurer, and no one else was, then yah, I'd say 'fuck Jews'.  But that's not the case.  There is no evil nation or race.  That's just sloppy thinking.

Well we should thank them for our standard of living because a system of credit and debt drives economic growth.

How do you figure?  In my experience, borrowing is extremely productive.  It allows one to grow a business much more quickly than would otherwise be possible.  It allows one to purchase needed equipment and assets sooner so that one can start earning profit sooner.  If I have to pay $100/month in interest on equipment earning me $200/month more profit, that's far better than paying nothing in interest and earning no additional profit.

I think you have a very limited view of the process.

Nothing. Imagine having to save enough money to buy a home with cash. Home ownership would become out of reach for a large majority of the population.

Borrowing money is the only way the average person can afford to buy a house, or start a business. It is probably the most important tool for building wealth ever invented by humans.

You're arguing with me in the climate change thread that infinite growth is unsustainable yet usury charges are arguably one of the very cause of our current implimentation requiring infinite growth to begin with and you're saying that because it directly benefits you that you don't see any problems with it? I think you have a very limited and self centered view of the process.

I also have no idea why someone would believe charging interest is predatory. Money loses value over time, so lending money without interest costs the lender.

Without the ability to charge interest, the rich will simply end up owning everything because the average man will not be able to buy anything of lasting value

Wouldn't home owners be better served with interest-free loans?
