Ive been away for 12 months and have come back and read a couple of new ideas. Dry grain prep in a jar sr8 to PC https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/25621965
And soak or boil rye grains, not both
Cant find the link.
Whats the community thinking on this?

That dry prep is brand new. IDK anyone else that's tried it beside the op. The boil or soak methods are tried and true at this point. Boiling's gonna be faster prep obv since it's not an overnight soak.

Not brand new. Super super old news. No one does it anymore because it sucks.

The dry grain right to jars prep methods have always been attractive but it just doesn't work as well as prepared grains

Thanks for the correction. I hadn't stumbled across it until now and saw the post date.

I'm not 100% sure it's the same with all grains, but they seem pretty similar. I use oats and follow bod's ezaf oat prep linked below. Basically boil till plump in the morning, dry the surface for a few hours(depends on your conditions) then pc. https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=24126032&page=0&vc=1#24126032

Usually for rye its soak then quick simmer. No roiling boil
I use oats that's a rolling boil for 30m or so

With bods grain prep they can sit for a long while too if you need, as long as you cover the filter so they dont dry out. Confirmed clean after 3 weeks unrefrigerated lmao
