Wet spot recovery
    #25632303 - 11/22/18 11:11 AM (6 years, 1 month ago)

Recently knocked up a batch of jars with a clean culture only for it to grow out nicely following certain grain kernels going damp and secreting a snotty pale substance, most of the jars are fluffy and white but there are individual kernels untouched and they look like they've just come out of a soak. I'm guessing it's my prep but these jars have got some real nice growth and no other contams seem to be visible. Im wondering if I shake the jars up and leave em in a boiler room they'll dry out and recover? Or are they all fucked? I've been looking forward to spawning these jars for a week only to come back and find them looking like how they are.

Yes. Shake them and see if they recover. Recovery speed/ if they recover at all will indicate just how bad your bacterial contamination is. If they recover I'd recommend top fruiting them. What are you using? WBS?

They dont even smell bad through the poly, given em a shake and a new home under the stairs, gunna check up on em in a week, I'm using wheat with rr's grain prep, and yer was thinking of going in vitro, if some kernels are still untouched I doubt they'll make it through a coir tub without triching out or some bs
