Gasket is definitely not bad and it seals that's obvious from the descriptions. And the safety release against over pressure is the black rubber plug. This is the pressure indicator TOP, it just indicates pressure by popping up
Yeah but if you read op he didn't have it screwed all the way so the gasket around the pressure indicator couldn't hold pressure and was dumping out steam, he noticed and resolved it

Naming two crucial mechanical parts the same how practical
I got out my manual and I think they are labeled top just to distinguish which end is the top...
Seems like it's more confusing than helpful, I think we can figure out which end is the top..

Most say better dry than wet cause you can just juice some xtra lc/li all on it and not have to worry to much about it getting to moist.

Water doesn't escape from the jars it is pretty much trapped in the substrates/grain into which steam is absorbed again.

Actually, it does more than indicate pressure. Without that the PC would implode while cooling down. I had it happen on a 55-gallon steamer.

When I try to visualise a Presto PC imploding I can not imagine what circumstances would cause that kind of force. What happened when your 55 gallon steamer imploded?
