Innoculating woodchips with ovoids and planting the bed nearby

Would this be feasible? To inoculate woodchips indoors, perhaps during the winter, and then once mycelial growth has begun, bring the bed of woodchips to a place outdoors in the spring, and wait for growth?
I haven't done my first grow yet and just wanna know the feasibility of this plan

If you use grain spawn then yes this is how it is done

How would you transfer from, say, BRF spawn to woodchips?

Crumble the brf spawn into prepared woodchips and let it colonize

Are there specific conditions that'd be best for colonizing the woodchips? Also, could the woodchips, once colonized, be buried and still grow to draw less suspicion in a garden? Or if not, would they look obviously covered in mycelium?

Room temp for colonizing and other then growers nobody is really gonna know what colonizing woodchips are

Awesome, i just didn't know if they'd be covered in white mycelium visibly that might throw off people who see it. Also, I know ovoids grow naturally by flood zones or other overflow areas, but if colonized manually, would this location still be necessary for consistent growth?

Ovoids will grow fine on chips as well

Even without a plentiful water source nearby? I know when hunting one should look for them near flooded areas

I Love Luc-id I seeeee what ya did there
croncR2001 totally missed it ew
Hey if you have a mild winter, you can go for a spring harvest. Just make your beds early winter and they'll fruit end of spring.
Keep wet cardboard as a casing layer and if your temps can stay 60s for a few weeks..
Psilocybe ovoideocystidiata

I've got a pretty cold winter as I'm in the northeast
I figure I can colonize the wood chips indoors in some container over the winter and come spring, dump it in my garden amongst other wood chips placed there a couple years ago, and let it grow from there

Awesome, I hoped so! Any tips for keeping the mycelium healthy prior to and upon planting in the garden?

This is the magic number! Not an expert but in my experience, Psilocybe ovoideocystidiata thrives best around 60 degrees fahrenheit. From culture, grains, pinhead formation to fruitbodies; keep them around there and they'll be plenty healthy.
Happy growing and Thanksgiving to ya!

Just don't put up a sign saying what they are.
