pasteurization temp
    #25630388 - 11/21/18 03:43 PM (6 years, 1 month ago)

i just finished pasteurizing 2 jars of bulk sub ( manure, lots of verm, brf, coffee) and 2 jars of casing (50/50). i had a hard time maintaining a constant temp. I kept  it fluctuating between 165-195. did the temp get too high?

How long did they maintain a temperature of 165-195?

If you sterilize the mix you pasturized you can make cakes from it.
1 part everything excluding the coffee( little bit is a great additive) makes a great mix

My sub went all the way up to 195 and stayed there for a while even though I know it's not supposed to go past 170 but it still worked beautifully.

Note I did not use BRF in mine though... Just hpoo/coir/verm

yes this is what i did cronicr. a little over a month ago i PC'd cakes with the mix i posted here originally for my bulk. i inoculated these with spore solution just to see if it would even work. i now have 4 fully colonized cakes. i was advised to break them up into bulk sub in a tray to get the best yeild possible as ive been told fruiting pan cakes can be a pain.

They can be a pain if uou try fruit them like regular cakes, pretty easy if you simply case them in the jar but bulk is a great plan

i was thinking of fruiting one jar as you said, incase something goes wrong with my bulk. in either case, if it goes well i will post a small growlog with pictures for other newbs like me looking to try pans!

that is the grow that inspired me to do this one! my original plan was to follow that step by step. but as macmerdin said that grow is suited for getting fast fruits, not lots of fruits! although i would be happy with enough for one pan experience. i keep reading how amazing they are. i would lie to increase my yield if possible.
