So 4 days into my second shoulder surgery and first major surgery (5 metal screws) * 1
    #25628355 -

Hi friends  so excuse any typos because my right arm is currently immobilized and I’m having constant pain that could make an mma fighter faint and actually made me cry briefly like 3 times now and made me pass out from pain twice. It’s been unbearable and heavy pain meds and weed is the only thing that’s helping and I’m low. I’ve been an opiate addict for 10 years so the norco they give me is nice but it’s been 4 days and they’re gone because of my tolerance and addiction.

So let’s start briefly with what happened for those who are unaware I’ll try and keep it  as simple as possible.  I’m 24 now but when I was 18 I have done five consecutive Somers of increasing difficulty of white water rafting. The injury  occurred in our first major white wire rabbit . The class system signifies dangerousness  and threat to life. They told us before we enter the rafter that if someone were to fall out they would probably die .

Now keep in mine in a rapid like this there are up to 40 mph currents in the rapid, so you’re basically been flown through a meatgrinder, when you’re also drowning. I have extensive swimming experience in the ocean and rivers and I was a lifeguard at that time,Using that training along with white water rafting experience I was able to get a few breaths which help me stay a while I’v using the training along with white water rafting experience I was able to get a few breaths which help me stay alive.

However for 550 yards I was dragged at 40 miles an hour into boulders, jagged sharp rocks, 10 foot drops and it almost killed me. When the rapid finally stopped they found me in the water and  did CPR and brought me back. When I came to my knees were extremely bloody and I had immense amounts of pain in my shoulders and neck.

I went to my primary care physician in my area and my area is notoriously horrible when it comes to healthcare. My doctor did 1 x-ray and said I was fine.  Five years later and after three years of boxing I found out from an MRI I insisted on getting that my shoulder had been completely diss attached from my body for 5 years. During those five years I’ve had Terrible constant pain that has got in the way of jobs terrible constant pain that has gotten away with jobs, being able to hang out with friends And it is the main contributor to my opiate addiction.

So after the five years which was one year ago  I had a surgery to reattach my arm to my shoulder. There’s surgery also hurt very bad but all in all after physical therapy I was starting to do a little better even if not by much. Then the “opioid crisis national emergency“  also includes stripping patients with bad chemical imbalances  due to mental illness  drastically be cut down by the fda on things like Xanax. Even my psychiatrist said he would rather have me around 3 mg Xanax per day which is still way less than I was on. Anyway I ran out of pills and for three days to not have Xanax. This caused me to have a major seizure that made me fall on the surgery arm just had 2-3 months before .

During this unfortunate turn of events I had to wait nearly 7 months for surgery.  In that time doing things that I had to do to live my life I apparently injured/damaged it Way more than The specialist thought it would be. I went into surgery thinking it’d be one hour and one metal anchor. Instead it took 4hours+ and I have 5 metal anchors all around my shoulder and it’s the only thing that will keep it in place forever now.  The pain is just so overwhelming and makes it hard to concentrate on posting like this  so I’m sorry if I sound rambling. But i always seem to get love from the shroomites here and put a smile on my face. So this is been a very tough, painful, scary and downright torturous  recovery and will be complicated by  my long-standing severe addiction to diluadid  in the lack of true pain relief because of tolerance severely but I’ll get through this one where another  was a little help from friends and family

Please send good vibes and I love y’all

That sounds awful.  The good news, once you heal the pain should go away.  The bad news is you are in for a rough ride while you heal.  I consulted with an OR nurse and without narcotics your best option may be Aleve and ice.  Don't overdo either. Check in with your surgeon if you haven't already he/she might have other options for you.  It sucks now, but it will be worth it in the long run.  Wish you a speedy recovery.

For most of the normies out there, an operating system is just a bootloader for Google Chrome.

And I don't know what the mantis is praying for
But he's probably just thanking the Lord
That he don't live in a home
And he don't got a phone
And he don't sit around all angry and bored
(He's just a bug)

Thank you for caring enough to ask someone about it that knows . I have been consistently using ice and ibuprofen. Unfortunately it does very little so in that sense you are right that it's just going to suck really really bad and hopefully in the Long Haul it will all be worth it.

I do have a little bit of Kratom left but I am dealing with severe nausea even from my normal Dilaudid doses. Part of it is all the acetaminophen I'm guessing, I just can't stomach kratom right now and don't have the means to capsulize them. I just really am scared about the recovery process because the last one was very arduous and didn't seem to make me better.

However that's probably why I needed this surgery so I shouldn't dismiss it yet. I'll do everything I can as far as exercises at home this time. Last time it seems like such a waste and I let depression and anxiety tell me that it wasn't worth it. I won't make that mistake again. For these next 5 to 14 days it's going to be very very challenging 2 do even the simplest things. Sleeping is nearly impossible I only sleep when I pass out at the moment. Also I really don't want to get into it but at home my step parent is being less than understanding to say the least. Again rambling but it all seems important and dangerous in my mind.

These horror stories should scare any one away from using opiates recreationally. The realities of health issues later on with no pain relief is horrible.

If you aren't and can, staying high AF can help.  Worked after my surgery but that was a minor one.

Shoulder pain sucks, I've had a surgery on both of mine although nowhere near as invasive as yours. Sorry I can't give any advice as far as pain management but when it comes time to start physical therapy don't let them push you too hard. The first time I went in to physical therapy I had reasonably good range of motion albeit with some pain and after the first day I couldn't lift my arm more than an inch in any direction for over a month. Hopefully things turn out better for you, with both of mine it took almost a year just to get back where I was before the surgery and didn't improve any further after that.
