Hi guys. Well ive only just started and so far everything I touch goes wrong. Got really excited about my agar plates, they were all just full of bacteria and fluffy mould, no chance of any transfers. My cardboard mycelium hasn't taken at all and I cant find any more wild ones.
This all started when I found some wavy caps a little over a month ago and since then all I can do is think about and dream about mushrooms. My head hurts and my wife thinks ive gone crazy with all this science stuff.

I confess to having spores delivered to my family home in a different state because they canβt be sent to my state. I called my mom knowing she would mention the delivery in which I surprisingly responded and asked politely if she would forward the box.

I confess,
I'm one stubborn son of a gun. If I can't do something (especially in mycology) it makes me try all the harder.
Case in point : Pan Cyans...
Come hell or high water I'm growing some!

I'll confess that its hard to keep my mushroom growing hobby a secret because I feel like I'm really good at it but never get to tell people what my "real" hobby is. Sometimes I just want to share my passion with people I meet but I know it would be looked down upon by some and dangerous for too many people to know about.

That's why I like the shroomery. The one person that does know my hobby could care less what a "flush" is.

I've been trying gourmets as well. So, I've been able to share my hobby with my family.
I tell them about my lions mane and the basic process etc etc. Just not about the actives...
Them: "interesting you're growing mushrooms. How about the magic ones? Hahaha."
Me: "hahaha, oh aunt Judy, you crack me up!"

My family knows I used to grow, but doesn't know I have since come back to the hobby. I admit, back in the day there were "other" reasons I was growing, and even though that is not the case these days,I don't want my family to have to worry. Funny tho, cause I give mushrooms to my dad a few times a year from a "friend". As a parent myself,I'm sure he knows. But mostly for my own comfort,I don't tell anyone. My wife knows, supports me(will listen to me ramble),but isn't interested in the details. So I spill it here on the shroomery!
