Noob Help: non-100% colonised jar pinned in vitro. Do birth or leave?
    #25624274 - 11/18/18 10:26 PM (6 years, 1 month ago)

Hi, as per title I have a jar that has started to pin but hasn't colonised 100% (is at about 90% in 3 weeks). The bit that hasn't colonised is the base (the top when birthed).

Should I birth it? and if I birth do a dunk and roll? and if I dunk and roll do I pick off the pins that have formed?

Sorry for all the dumb questions, first grow and I couldn't find clear advice on the above.

I’d birth it and leave the pins there. No dunk

how do you plan to birth it? Looks like you'll have to scoop it out of that jar? are you breaking it up?
from what I've heard, pins in the jar suggests there's some sort of contam in there, and if i see that I generally just soak in the jars for 12-24 hours, then top with moist coir and fruit from the jars... (I'm deffo no expert though)

If theres contams definitely dont dunk that will just further the problem. Theres enough moisture for a couple flushes, clear the uncolonized parts, add thin casing and fruit from jar.
