Good.

Good that they thwarted the union, or good that they aren't being allowed to set up shop in California neighborhoods?

I myself am currently boycotting Wal-Mart.

My brother's been working for Walmart for about 10 years. The employees have rejected unions numerous times. We can see how well the unions helped out the strikers at Vons.

Now get to work!

No (not seriously anyway), he feels that they are a good employer and he is a congenital under achiever.

Why?

I can understand why you would be against unions supported by the government. I am personally against the government enabling, or disabling unions, but if people want to band together to become a stronger force for getting what they want, I say more power to them.

Is individual wealth the only legitimate form of power in your eyes?

I agree, collective bargaining is often the best method for the unskilled, unambitious and/or lazy to obtain higher wages. However, for those who are talented, ambitious and/or willing to work hard, it's often like shooting yourself in the foot.

So is being born wealthy, and taking advantage of the weak. Why should a few fat cats get all the fun?

Why? My observations of unions is that they protect the marginal, don't know when to be satisfied and spend their members dues in ways the members do not always wish them to.

They served their purpose and need to go away.
