Democrats remind us why we are at war in Iraq.

You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for that my dear friend is the beginning of the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it. ~ Adrian Rogers

 Let's face it, both major political parties are run by hypocrites, liars and thieves.

To call humans 'rational beings' does injustice to the term, 'rational.'  Humans are capable of rational thought, but it is not their essence.  Humans are animals, beasts with complex brains.  Humans, more often than not, utilize their cerebrum to rationalize what their primal instincts, their preconceived notions, and their emotional desires have presented as goals - humans are rationalizing beings.

Personally, I take it as a humor piece designed to up the morale of Republicans after a tough few weeks. I have a similar version of this in an email I received which includes another section ridiculing Ted Kennedy, etc.

I'm being kind to take it as humor; one can also see it as a clever attempt to justify the Iraq war. First the author preloads you with facts and statements made by govt officials about the Iraqi threat in the years leading up to this war. After you are conditioned to accept the entire piece as factual (and thus authoritative) he slips in this little jewel:

FDR led us into World War II.
Germany never attacked us Japan did.

Umm...you kinda left out the little detail that Germany was allied with Japan. An attack by Japan represented an attack by Germany. This would not get past any fifth grade history student. Pretty misleading.

I never saw "FDR led us into World War II.
Germany never attacked us Japan did."
Maybee you should lay off the hallucinogens

But even if it was there (I never saw it) the author IMO was not trying to misslead, he was stating a fact. Iraq was haboring terrorists/training them and thought to be developing WMD's. So 9/11 represented an attack by the terrorists and states that habored  them.

Maybe you should actually read what is there on the site using the link YOU provided.
Hint: click on the "Worst President?" button. If you need anymore help I'd be happy to assist.

Was the author misleading or just plain stupid?
I guess you're going with the latter.

Iraq was training and harboring terrorists? You must be one of the last people on the planet who believes that.
Even the Bush administration has backed off that one.

Read this and then tell me that Iraq was not doing exactly that. Well they were brought to the medias attention by the INC so it might not be too credible... http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/gunning/interviews/khodada.html

I didn't read all of the information on the site that I provided and I will now. I thought I missed a quote or something.

I guess invading Iraq was the right thing to do after all.

ohh ok, I understand now. All of the terrorist attacks have just been retaliation for us attacking them first.

All of the terrorist attacks where?

We've created 100 Bin Ladens by going to Iraq. The proof of that is down the road.

I agree with you. It isn't that credible.

The man has not served in over a decade for one thing. So his claim is not exactly up to date. Even the administration notes, "they say it is unlikely that these activities were related to the Sept. 11 attacks." Also note the interview was given on Oct 14, 2001- just over a month after 9/11..he had to know America was itching to strike someone and he conveniently provided an excuse. Just like Chalibi, our man in Iraq, who it was just revealed coached people to lie to U.S. intelligence that Iraq was linked to Al Qaida so we would have reason to attack his enemy thus bringing him into power.

He is referring to Salman Pak. And it was where he said it was, laid out as he described it, and contained what he said it did (i.e. the 707). Of course, during the invasion of Iraq, there was no training going on there.

Interesting, although it doesn't provide a link between 9/11 and Iraq.
